First, Bunkerheadz dives deep into the lush world of Dutch ambient techno, reshaping a timeless classic by Eric Cycle into a new psychedelic experience driven by contemporary energy. Trippin’ on!
Then French Theory tears through the boundaries of time with a modern rework of an iconic 1989 anthem — the very track that helped bridge the gap between New Beat and Hard Beat. Here, modern techno pressure meets the emotional pleasure of unforgettable 80s melodies.
Volume [3] is a celebration of the raw energy of the 90s rave movement infused with the sonic power of today’s underground techno scene. A journey through nostalgia, analog dreams and heavy club-driven rhythms.

Second release in our Reshapes series, on http://www.n9.fr, Volume [2] explores new approaches to “reshaping.”
Kicking things off with a bang, Orbit 48 crafts a track from a single sample, finally satisfying his craving for a kitschy ’80s pop-funk track—one he always felt lacked the infectious groove its title suggested—and transforming it into a full-blown rave monster. It’s a blast!
Then Buchla returns, with a love letter to David Leigh Morley’s electro/ambient universe, offering a swirling emotional journey with the famous synth that gave him his name. What a deeeeep trip!

So, what’s a Reshape ?
Not a version. Not a remix. Not a cover. Something different.
A play with music : taking a track you worship or find inspiring, breaking it into its more meaningful parts and building something else with it. A different track, an homage, that builds on the legacy, and pushes it somewhere else.
That’s how it started. When Buchla sent us this first Reshape track, taking one of the fondation hymn of New Beat, and pushing it towards something faster, and distorting its bass into something completely new and hypnotizing. A New Beat track, beyond New Beat. Something "re-brilliant". A Reshape.

Then Bunkerheadz. Eric and Martijn are taking the elements of Warp-like Electronica of early 90’ and reshaping it into this beautiful soulful ballad, carefully chiseling sounds and atmosphere, into something more intimate and personal. Soultronica. Reshaped.

What’s a Reshape ? Just like the Yül-Rik cover strikingly suggests, it's the essence of the oldschool sampling idea, but taken further. Deeper, stronger, joyful and creative.
