Supporters Gallery Behaviour ‼️

Those attending the supporters gallery at the Colour Bussing should note that anyone who is deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed entry. Supporters should also aim to use the toilet before the proceedings start and remain in their seat for the duration of the ceremony.

The Colour Bussing is a very meaningful ceremony and a crucial part of Hawick Common Riding, and those in attendance are asked to respect its importance.

FARMLAND ON FRIDAY 🐄

If you are going to Acerknowe by foot on Friday, the farmer has kindly asked that you do not use the fields normally used to get between the Mair and the reservoir via the farm. There is also no entry/parking at the farm steading for cars or walkers. This is due to cows and calves. Instead, walkers should take a slightly longer route, in the direction of either Pilmuir Rig or Williestruther.

Please note, this may affect your ability to get to the racecourse before the horses.

A huge thank you to Ryan Lyall and Rob Halliday for driving the girls around over the past few weeks, putting up with their patter, and keeping the car organised.

You both went above and beyond, and it’s safe to say the girls would have been completely lost without you. Your patience, good humour, and willingness to help certainly didn’t go unnoticed. Thanks for being absolute legends 🥰.

A special thank you also to the team at Greendale for providing the car and keeping it pristine for every ride-out. Your support has been greatly appreciated and has helped keep everything running smoothly throughout 🚙🛞.

🎟️ MAIR TICKETS

Due to the current lack of cash in the ATM’s around Hawick, we would like to take this opportunity to remind those intending to head up ‘The Mair’ on Friday/Saturday that entry is £10 per person and cash only.

However, you can purchase early bird tickets for £9 each until 2pm on Wednesday from ILF Imaging. Cash or card is accepted for these pre-paid tickets.

Denholm Rideout - Saturday 30th May

📆 Today, Cornet Nuttall will lead riders to Denholm.

The horses leave the Backdamgate at 12pm and arrive into Denholm at 3pm. The ride home starts at 5pm and is scheduled to arrive back at the Tower Knowe at 7pm. More information on the route can be found in the Official Time-Table which is available in various local outlets for £5.

💰 Entry to the green for cars at Denholm is £10 (cash only).

🚮 Please take all litter home with you or use bins provided.

🚗 Be aware that roads are open to traffic.

🚙 Please note, all cars are parked at the owner’s own risk.

🚧 We ask that all supporters follow general road safety guidelines at all times.

🦮 Please keep all dogs on leads at all times.

Good News! The live streaming of the 2026 Colour Bussing will go ahead. Tickets will be on sale at the Heart of Hawick from 9am tomorrow, Friday 29th May. £8 each.

Thanks must go to Emtelle for repairing fiber optic cable, which had been damaged underground, presumable by a utility company when a carrying out their own works.
