We embarked on an exciting journey at the beginning of 2023 when we brought and converted our van, Jezebel.

Hey everyone.

Sorry I've not been about since January. I'm still trying to sell my van so I can get something bigger so I can go adventuring again. It's really got me down and I'm in no position to be able to get something without selling my van first. I can't even afford to get a little car to be able to go anywhere in. Driving with the dogs in the van has become unsafe, so yeah it's been a lot of me stuck at home.

So I've not been able to create content on Vanlife and I've felt a bit lost. Works been great though so at least my career is going well.

Update on my pups in a separate post. (It's a bit sad)

My favourite picture of me for a while.

Hanging out with the pups at WEST B**r in Glasgow after a run around Glasgow Green (them not me, I don't run).

The Glasgow Necropolis is a Victorian cemetery . It is on a low but very prominent hill to the east of Glasgow Cathedral (St. Mungo's Cathedral). Fifty thousand individuals have been buried here. Typical for the period, only a small percentage are named on monuments and not every grave has a stone. Approximately 3,500 monuments exist here.

The cemetery, as most early Victorian cemeteries, is laid out as an informal park, lacking the formal grid layouts of later cemeteries. This layout is further enhanced by the complex topography. The cemetery's paths meander uphill towards the summit, where many of the larger monuments stand, clustered around the John Knox Monument.

The Glasgow Necropolis was described by James Stevens Curl as "literally a city of the dead". Glasgow native Billy Connolly has said: "Glasgow's a bit like Nashville, Tennessee: it doesn't care much for the living, but it really looks after the dead."

The Hope Sculpture by Steuart Padwick is a public art installation across 3 locations in Glasgow and is a COP26 legacy gift from over 50 companies, who donated free materials and expertise for the project.

The 23.5m high Hope Sculpture in this photo is situated in Clyde Gateway’s beautiful woodland park at Cuningar Loop. Each sculpture was constructed using low carbon, reclaimed, recycled or sustainable materials, of which, almost all were locally sourced.

The equestrian statue of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington located outside the Royal Exchange is one of Glasgow's most iconic landmarks.

Located on Queen Street, in front of the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), the statue has infamously been adorned with an orange and white traffic cone for most of the last 40 years.

The tradition of placing a cone on top of the Duke of Wellington statue, in Royal Exchange Square, started in the 1980s when people, often under the influence of alcohol, found it amusing to scale the plinth and adorn the Duke’s head.

The local authority removed it each time…but they were fighting a losing battle as the cone quickly returned. It soon became a popular tourist attraction for people visiting the city.

During the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the Duke was photographed wearing a face covering.

And in March 2022, the statue was adorned with a specially-knitted yellow and blue cone to show support for Ukraine following the invasion by Russia.

We're wandering around Glasgow today doing the tour. Come up against a few "no dogs allowed" moments but other than that we're having a great time learning a bit about the city and having a lovely walk.

Pit Stop Photo Moment as requested in the guide. Next clue is actually on the street we're staying on so we're going to do a cheeky stop at the Brewdog on the corner.
