Top quality sets by Jenny Hallam and Lou Clark and then a thunderous performance by The White Feather Collective to finish the launch - in once again a quite simply stunning venue for music. Oh and in Malvern! Who knew?

Tonight is the night people! Very excited and proud to announce that the first collaborative 'Elmslie Unplugged' show for Sharktail Music & Elmslie House promotions is going to be packed to the rafters with a complete sell out!

Today is the official launch and to start us off in style we have the mighty The White Feather Collective plus the awesome Jenny Hallam and Lou Clark adding some fine support

We would like to thank the amazing support from Carnival Records - where ALL of you should go often, we are very lucky to have somewhere like this in Malvern

We would also like to thank Friday Beer for supplying there top local beer once again. Always a top brew chaps!

Yes, here at Elmslie we have NO tickets left for this event.

Was fortunate enough to meet and tech a gig for this awesome lady and hear her tunes - they are bonkers good and must be heard people!
The album was recorded by some other awesome guys: Malvern's own Matt and Paul at Mu-Mu.
Honestly people, if you want to listen to something new and fresh this is the album it's right good mind!

Joanna's new album Gardens in My Mind which Matthew and Paul recorded last August at Nimbus Concert Hall is on preorder and has its official release on Sunnyside Records. Her new album showcases her signature crystalline vocals and poetic lyrics with an intricate weaving of singer-songwriter, folk, jazz, contemporary and indie pop music. The 14-track album features Wallfisch on vocals, piano and ukulele along with pianist, Dan Tepfer, and award-winning London-based ensemble, The Sacconi Quartet.
Our best wishes go to Joanna and the musicians for a successful record and great reviews!

Awesome day of workshops today at the studio with the Hanley Tech Crew!

Firstly we had a session testing drum microphone positions that included testing both the sound of the kick drum be**er and the 'over the shoulder' mic technique which had some winner results. We were almost at the point of thinking that a room mic, one decent kick mic and an over the shoulder mic is all you need for a great drum sound - thoughts?

Secondly we had a guitar amp epic by testing all sorts of microphone combos - condenser, ribbon and dynamic, then speaker positions with a couple of DI tests thrown in for good measure. We came to conclusion that after all these different tests, the SM57 is still one of the best for recording guitar. Such a great and honest sound!

All in all, a great day and loads learnt. Thanks to all who attended and see you all at the next one in a few weeks time.

Today is a very, very sad day at the studio.

The word 'legend' is arguably used too much these days, but yesterday we most definitely lost one of the greatest musical legends of all time. Like so many already this year, an irreplaceable icon has gone.

He was the main reason I picked up a bass, the inspiration to write, record and perform music, the reason I continually question the industry, the drive to keep playing (whatever anyone else says) and the musical benchmark for fools like me to dream of achieving.

RIP Prince. Thank you for the music, the moves, the groove and your relentlessness.

Well what a week this is turning out to be, I have just gone past the big 100 like mark and I'm stoked!

In fact, I'm just as stoked as the day I pulled the following sword from this mighty anvil! Apparently some dude called Arthur was quite annoyed.....
