I’d lived near Elton Hall for years — our cottage is just nearby — and more recently I’ve been working as a barista and server in the garden centre on the grounds. But somehow, until yesterday, I’d never actually visited the gardens themselves… and I was completely in awe.

The moment I stepped inside, it felt like I’d wandered into a fairytale — part secret English garden, part Alice in Wonderland dream. I was genuinely stunned by the beauty of it all.

The alliums were absolutely breathtaking, the topiary was astounding, and seeing wisteria cascading down a staircase felt almost unreal. I loved how beautifully kept the gardens were, while still allowing nature to gently take over in places too — moss-covered statues, hidden corners, and wild pockets that made everything feel timeless and romantic.

Honestly, this may just be the best English garden you didn’t know about. 🌿 Sharing my full walk around the gardens very soon on my YouTube channel.
