Not the results we were hoping for across the board this weekend, but cricket is a game of fine margins and we go again next week! ๐
Despite some tough losses, we saw some fantastic individual fight and brilliant standout performances across all three teams. Here is how the weekend unfolded:
Saturday 20th June
Runcorn CC 1st XI vs Barrow CC 1st XI
๐ Result: Barrow won by 3 wickets.
โญ Standout: Nauman Akram scoring 40 (31) with the bat and with the ball taking 4/33 (10). D Nedugodan also chipped in with a solid 31 (45).
Timperley CC 3rd XI vs Runcorn CC 2nd XI
๐ Result: Timperley won by 128 runs.
โญ Standout: Sarah OโConnor led the fight back with the ball, picking up an excellent 3/30 (6), while M Tobin took 3/71. With the bat, G Bushell top-scored with a brilliant half-century of 59 (62), supported by M Keenan with 29 (42).
Sunday 21st June
Trafford MV CC 3rd XI vs Runcorn CC 3rd XI
๐ Result: Trafford MV won by 188 runs.
โญ Standout: Mike Ashworth showed true all-round grit, bowling a tidy 1/44 (10) and coming back to score a resilient 27 (34). A Scowcroft dug deep at the top with a hard-fought 40 (78).
