Today marks two years at war. On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists broke into our homes, brutally murdering, torturing and abducting hundreds of innocent Israeli civilians. In the chaos and horror that followed, ordinary people became first responders: civilians fought to protect their families and homes, soldiers ran toward danger and reservists left their loved ones to defend our people, not knowing if they'd return home.
Since then, we have endured a long, brutal fight on multiple fronts. Our warriors and brothers have risked their lives and sacrificed so much to protect the tiny piece of land we call home. Thousands have stood up to defend us, and too many have never returned home, paying the ultimate sacrifice.
We have faced evil on every front, from Gaza to Lebanon to Iran and beyond, meant to break us. But instead, the strongest generation of young men and women this country has ever seen was born. Our nation has been united against a common enemy that seeks to destroy us and take our freedom yet has only strengthened our resolve and renewed our commitment to the future of this country.
Today, we pray that we will always remember October 7th not just as the darkest day in our history, but as the turning point: a day when we rose up, confronted evil, and laid the foundation for a safer, brighter tomorrow for our children.
We are grateful to all of you who continue to stand with us through these dark times and defend freedom. May we find the strength and courage to continue this fight, and may our soldiers, loved ones, and hostages all be brought home. 🇮🇱⚔️🕯️
