* Exports dropped from $49.39 million recorded in 2024-25.

Ethanol producers commissioned under the EOI-2 deficit state scheme have approached the Supreme Court, seeking inclusion in the proposed additional allocation of 149 crore litres of ethanol by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

The producers said they were commissioned under EOI-2 and registered on the Ethanol for India portal after September 2025. They also highlighted that most of these plants have long-term offtake commitments with OMCs.

India may increase its reliance on rice for ethanol production this year as lower kharif acreage under maize and sugarcane raises concerns over feedstock availability.

Industry executives expect rice’s contribution to ethanol production to rise by 15–20% during the current season. Rice currently accounts for around 26.79% of ethanol feedstock, compared with approximately 28% from sugarcane.

• जिल्हाधिकारी, कारखानदार आणि संघटनेच्या बैठकीत प्रतिटन ३,५०० रुपये ऊसदराचा झाला होता निर्णय
• अनेक साखर कारखान्यांनी अद्याप शेतकऱ्यांना एफआरपीची रक्कमही दिली नसल्याचा आरोप
• पेरणी आणि बी-बियाणांच्या खरेदीसाठी शेतकऱ्यांना पैशांची गरज, ऊस बिल थकल्यामुळे आर्थिक अडचण
• ठरलेला ऊसदर शेतकऱ्यांच्या खात्यात तातडीने जमा नव केल्यास तीव्र आंदोलन छेडण्याचा इशारा
• एफआरपीची रक्कम वेळेत न दिल्यास १५ टक्के व्याजासह ऊस बिल शेतकऱ्यांना देण्याची मागणी

• इस में सरकार द्वारा पश्चिम चंपारण जिले को 526 लाख क्विंटल गन्ना पेराई का टार्गेट
• राज्य की 10 संचालित चीनी मिलों में से पांच मिलें पश्चिम चंपारण में स्थित
• वर्ष 2025-26 पेराई सत्र में इन पांचों मिलों द्वारा 569 लाख क्विंटल से अधिक गन्ना पेराई
• दरभंगा के सकरी और मधुबनी के रैयाम में दो नई चीनी मिलें स्थापित करने की योजना शुरू
• राज्य और केंद्र सरकार ने चीनी उद्योग की प्रगति के लिए उठाएं कई महत्वपूर्ण कदम
