🌿 From Duliajan to the Wild — The Inspiring Journey of Kalyan Chakraborty (KC) 🌿
Duliajan Adda proudly celebrates one of our very own — Kalyan Chakraborty, lovingly called KC — a celebrated wildlife photographer, filmmaker, traveler, and conservationist who has taken the spirit of our green hometown to a global stage!
Born to Dipak Kumar Chakraborty and Geeta Chakraborty of Settlement Area, near the Post Office, Duliajan, KC completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya Duliajan (Batch of 1998–99) before moving to Bangalore for higher studies in Mass Communication. Deeply rooted in his Bodo Kachari heritage, he has carried Assam’s traditions proudly through every journey he’s undertaken.
From the misty forests of Assam to the breathtaking landscapes of Masai Mara, Kenya, KC’s adventures have documented wildlife, inspired awareness, and rekindled a love for nature. His motto — “Live with no regrets and make every moment memorable” — perfectly reflects his fearless pursuit of creativity and purpose.
For over two decades in Bangalore, KC has built a name as a visionary storyteller. His production house, Kompass Crew Private Limited creates award-winning wildlife documentaries across India and abroad — from Maharashtra and the Eastern Himalayas to Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, Africa, SriLanka, SouthEast Asia and Nepal.
KC’s latest adventure is especially close to home — the upcoming “Northeast on Wheels: Self-Drive Expedition 2025.” In partnership with Arunachal Tourism, this exciting project aims to showcase Arunachal Pradesh as a premier self-drive destination for road enthusiasts and adventurers. Through the project, KC hopes to highlight the state’s rich wildlife, vibrant tribal culture, and remarkable conservation efforts, while also inspiring women and young girls Education and to explore, travel, and lead fearlessly in the world of adventure and environmental stewardship.
As part of Expedition Arunachal Pradesh, KC’s team will capture powerful stories about sustainability, wildlife rescue, and community-driven conservation, helping local voices reach a global audience.
Off the field, KC remains as dynamic as ever — a certified HAM professional, avid biker, car enthusiast, and proud member of the Civilian Rescue & Disaster Management Team, known for his valuable service during the pandemic and natural calamities. His commitment to sustainable living and reducing human–wildlife conflict embodies his belief that true adventure lies in protecting the world we explore.
