Shillong-based racer Phoebe Dale Nongrum is representing India at Round 2 of the 2026 Asia Auto Gymkhana Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from September 4–6.

As part of India’s five-member contingent, Phoebe is making history as the first racer from Meghalaya and the Northeast to compete at an international auto gymkhana championship.

Lord Krishna came to Manipur not only as a god, but something more.

Over time, devotion to Krishna found its own expression here - through music, dance, poetry and a living cultural tradition that continues to be passed from one generation to the next.

What began as devotion became art.
What became art became culture.
And that culture became deeply woven into the identity of Manipur.

So, in Manipur, Janmashtami is more than the celebration of Krishna’s birth. It is also a reminder of how a story of devotion found a home here and was transformed into something distinctly Manipuri.

This is Lord Krishna, as Manipur knows him.

At the Asian Aerobic Gymnastics Championships, Ariha won gold in the Senior Individual Women category with a score of 19.10, becoming the first Indian to achieve the feat in the event.

NUPI, a homegrown brand from Manipur, recently got its moment in the spotlight when one of its sarees was worn during the Monsoon Session of the Parliament by an MP. It may look like a small moment, but for a brand from a small state like Manipur, this kind of visibility matters.

Manipur has always had the talent. What we need is more of our brands, creators and businesses getting the opportunity to be seen beyond Manipur. NUPI is one more reminder that we have a lot worth putting on the national stage.
