A Whisker Away (Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu) is a 2020 Japanese animated fantasy-romance film.

It follows Miyo Sasaki, a cheerful but troubled middle-school girl who has a crush on her classmate Kento Hinode. Miyo discovers a magical mask that allows her to transform into a white cat, whom Kento names “Tarō.” As a cat, she becomes close to him and learns more about his life.

But Miyo becomes increasingly dependent on her cat identity, while Kento begins to notice that the cat seems strangely connected to her. When Miyo’s ability to transform takes a dangerous turn, she must confront her feelings, her family problems, and the importance of accepting herself as she is.
