After the first heist, Rio is caught by authorities and secretly imprisoned and tortured. The government hides it.

2. The Professor builds leverage
Instead of negotiating normally, the Professor prepares a new, bigger heist at the Bank of Spain. His real goal isn’t just gold... it’s getting Rio back.

3. Public pressure
He exposes the truth: Rio is being held and tortured without legal rights. This turns public opinion against the government and makes the situation political.

4. The second heist begins
The gang storms the Bank of Spain. Now the government is under national crisis + a human rights scandal.

5. Negotiation trap
The Professor forces officials into negotiations. They can’t admit what they did, but they also can’t ignore the heist.

6. Rio is returned
To reduce pressure and avoid scandal, the authorities hand Rio back during the negotiation process.
