Kampot feels like a slower, softer side of Cambodia 🇰🇭✨ From misty mountains to riverside sunsets, here are 10 things we loved doing in this peaceful little town:

🛺 1. Ride a Tuk Tuk
One of the best ways to explore Kampot slowly, with countryside views, local villages, and fresh air all around.

🏛️ 2. Visit the Black Palace
Hidden on Bokor Mountain, this abandoned royal residence has a mysterious charm surrounded by fog and forest.

🗿 3. See the Lok Yeay Mao Statue
A massive spiritual monument watching over the mountain roads, with incredible panoramic views nearby.

⛰️ 4. Explore Bokor Mountain
Cool weather, dramatic scenery, waterfalls, abandoned buildings, and clouds rolling through the hills.

🧂 5. Walk Through the Salt Fields
Beautiful reflective landscapes where locals harvest sea salt the traditional way during dry season.

🌊 6. Stroll Along Kampot Riverside
Relaxed cafes, peaceful walks, sunset skies, and one of the calmest atmospheres in Cambodia.

🕉️ 7. Discover the Ancient Cave Temple
Climb up into a cave hiding an old Shiva lingam and natural rock formations, including an elephant-shaped stone inside.

💧 8. Visit Secret Lake
A peaceful escape surrounded by greenery and countryside views, perfect for slowing down and taking it all in.

🌱 9. Tour a Pepper Farm
Kampot pepper is world-famous for a reason 🌶️ Learn how it’s grown and taste some of the freshest pepper you’ll ever try.

🌅 10. Take a Sunset Cruise
Golden skies, calm river waters, and the perfect way to end a day in Kampot.

Kampot really surprised us with how peaceful, authentic, and beautiful it feels 🤍

Tucked into the heart of Langka Lane, one of Phnom Penh’s coolest little corners 🌿✨ we found a cozy spot called Houb Houb, which literally means “to eat” in Khmer 🫶🇰🇭

The vibe felt warm and easy 🤍 We tried the crispy ban chev 🥞, fresh mango spring rolls 🥭🥢, and ginger chicken 🍗✨ all made with comforting flavors that felt light, fresh, and genuinely homemade.

What stood out most is how approachable everything feels here 🌞 Their lunch menu is only $3.50 💸 which makes Cambodian food feel accessible for first timers or travelers wanting to explore local flavors without the pressure 🍲🌏 They also have plenty of vegetarian options 🥬🌱 plus a focus on mild, healthy cooking and careful hygiene ✨ so you can enjoy your meal comfortably and safely 🫶

Simple food, kind people, cozy energy 🤎 the kind of place you end up recommending to your friends after one visit ✨

A day at Bo Tree Pepper Farm felt less like a tour and more like experiencing a different side of Cambodia 🌿✨

Surrounded by peaceful countryside and rows of pepper vines, we learned about the history of Kampot pepper and why it’s so special. Kampot pepper has PGI status, meaning it can only officially be called “Kampot Pepper” if it’s grown in this region under strict quality standards, similar to Champagne in France 🇰🇭

The experience included a pepper tasting and a walk through the organic family run farm, where we got to see how much care goes into every step 🌱

Lunch was full of Khmer flavours, from green mango salad with fresh green peppercorns to beef loc lac with black pepper sauce, a Cambodian favourite 🍛🫑

To finish, we tried pepper tea, pepper beer, and even pepper ice cream while taking in the beautiful countryside views 🍦🍺🍵

If you’re in Kampot and want a mix of local food, history, and nature, it’s definitely worth visiting 🤍

We absolutely loved the hot sauce at Shudaxia Hot Pot! 🔥🌶️ It’s the only mala sauce connected to a Guinness World Record and easily one of the spiciest yet most balanced and delicious ones we’ve ever tasted, that perfect numbing kick without killing the flavor! 😍

The ambiance is so vibrant and ambient, it’s no wonder so many people come here for the full experience. Great for warming up the body, boosting circulation, and lifting your mood with every spicy spoonful! ✨

Highly recommend if you love real Sichuan fire!

Planning a trip to Koh Rong? 🇰🇭 In this Koh Rong travel guide, we’re showing you exactly what to expect on Cambodia’s most beautiful island: where to arrive, where to stay, where to eat, and the spots most travel guides miss.

We start at Long Set Pier and settle into our beachfront stay at Reaksa Villa near Plankton Beach. From there, we head over to You&Me Resort for lunch and that classic Koh Rong beach vibe.

Later, we grab sunset drinks and dinner at Kerfuffle Bay, stop by Cookies, a tiny shop run by two of the sweetest kids on the island, and end the day at Long Beach watching what might be the most beautiful sunset in all of Cambodia.

If you’re wondering whether Koh Rong is worth it, where to stay, or what to actually do once you’re there, this is your honest, on the ground guide.

🏝️ Where we stayed: Reaksa Villa, near Plankton Beach
🍽️ Lunch spot: You & Me Resort
🌅 Sunset & dinner: Kerfuffle Bay
🛍️ Don’t miss: Cookies (run by two amazing local kids)
☀️ Best sunset: Long Beach

Phnom Penh evenings just hit differently 🌃✨

Warm air, buzzing streets, little tables outside, the sound of scooters passing by and plates arriving one after another filled with bold Khmer flavors 🇰🇭🍲

🥘 Pork belly stew with eggs, rich and comforting, the kind of dish that feels slow cooked with love 🤎

🫙 Prahok fermented fish served with seasonal vegetables, salty, punchy, earthy and so deeply rooted in Cambodian food culture 🌿🐟

🌶️ Then came the salmon amok, silky, fragrant and wrapped in creamy coconut curry flavors 🥥🐠

🔥 Grilled chicken with dipping sauces from Siem Riep that brought every bite to life, smoky, fresh and packed with flavor 🍋🌶️

One of the most interesting things we learned is that during the hot summer season in Cambodia, watermelon is often paired with fish dishes 🍉🐟

Sweet, cooling and refreshing against the savory flavors and honestly… it works so well.

The atmosphere was everything ✨
Night lights glowing, conversations all around us, warm plates on the table and that feeling of slowing down long enough to really experience a place through its food! 🥘

Self-care is our kind of date day 🤍✨
We usually swap the usual kind of date days for a spa day and honestly… no regrets. Hot oil massages, reflexology, and just slowing down together 🧖🏽‍♀️🧖🏽‍♂️
