🚨 ATTENTION: INTRUSION! 🚨

We interrupt your summer to announce a very special opportunity. In November, artist-extraordinaire Felix Kubin alights at WORM to lead a week-long radio play workshop.

Radio play, audio theatre, hoorspel, hørspiel: it’s time to bring this critical and experimental form back to the masses. Enough lean-back listening and letting the algorithm “curate” your “vibes”. It’s time to get people listening differently.

What does INTRUSION evoke for you? Surprise us. Sneak up on your audience. Apply - as a solo artist or group - to produce a full radio play (2-10 minutes duration) using WORM Sound Studios, aided by professional voice actors, with advice from Felix, and in conversations with a small group of focused peers. You will need to bring a near-complete script, ready for recording, sound design and editing.

Radio WORM's XLR programme is back for one more round in 2026! This project supports under-30s to create an experimental collaborative radio series.

XLR is a free, 13-week MDT trajectory* based on weekly Tuesday afternoon meet-ups at WORM. You’ll develop a concept for a weekly show together with co-hosts, learn the necessary skills and get advice on technical and conceptual questions, and attend workshops and excursions. You’ll also get to know WORM inside out, and have a pathway to making your own ongoing radio series after the trajectory.

Applicants must be under 30 at the time of application, and able to join in-person at WORM for weekly shows and spend an average of approx. 6 hours per week on the project.

They'll be sharing the story behind their project, their experiences, and what's coming next — plus, you'll get to hear some of their impro sessions.

Today from 16:00 → Pouya Ehsaei and Tara Fatehi, co-founders of From the Lips to the Moon, in conversation with Chrsitina Hazboun and guests from their newly released album. Chatting through sound, music, recording and artistic collaborations, this broadcast unpacks how the essence of liveness is conceived, from its journey as a fragment of the imagination, to a captured performance in the studio and its transformation into an album. Artistic processes, collaborative exchange, and spontaneity.

The broadcast also includes the voices and experiences of: MA.MOYO, Maureen Onwunali, Nomakhwezi Becker, Oluwaseun Olayiwola, and Tim Etchells.

Pouya Ehsaei is a live electronic musician, composer and sound designer working on the intersections of experimental electronic music, live improv and dub techno, characterised by influences from industrial music, breakbeat, jazz, noise, and Iranian folk and classical music. He is the band-leader of Cuban-Iranian ensemble Ariwo and co-founder of Parasang where he led long-form improvisations in a clubbing context.

Tara Fatehi works across performance, movement, theatre, voice, and writing exploring multivocality, unfinishedness, and ambiguity. Her playful practice is inspired by everyday absurdity, the inevitability of politics, and misremembered histories. She has performed at Nottdance, V&A, Tate Modern, Southbank Centre, Arnolfini, Montpelier Dance, Oslo Dansens Hus, parks, streets, warehouses, and more. She is the author of Mishandled Archive (LADA, 2020).

Christina Hazboun is an independent writer, researcher and cultural practitioner within the spheres of text, sound, radio and music morphing through sonic spaces, striving to increase the volume on the whispered, silenced and erased. She does so under the umbrella of The Sonic Agent, where she conjures live events and tours to increase the visibility and audibility of music and sound from the SWANA.

For this Radio WORM special, Nischal Khadka and Merel Maan Galama share research developed during the Resisting Waters residency for the Gaudeamus Festival 2026 in Utrecht.

Born and raised in eastern Nepal, Khadka brings Himalayan river cosmologies into conversation with Dutch water landscapes, while Galama's research and storytelling explore the histories and infrastructures that shape life around water in the Netherlands.

Through field recordings from ditches, canals, rivers, wetlands, pumps, sluices, and submerged environments, the broadcast offers a glimpse into a new collaborative work that will premiere at the Gaudeamus Festival, 9–13 September 2026.The show continues with a selection of field recordings, environmental sounds, and music that have inspired and accompanied the research.

Merel Maan Galama’s works move between ethnographic research, writing, analog photography, and film. The assemblages springing from these artistic practices
merge intimate encounters with broader socio-ecological questions. Within these assemblages, listening unfolds as a practice through which contextual and non-hierarchical forms of coexistence are unearthed in site-specific imaginaries.

Nischal Khadka is an artist, curator, and DJ whose work engages sound, performance, and curatorial practice through Himalayan sonic heritage, Indigenous ontologies, and transnational experiences of labour and migration. Khadka explores listening, ritual, memory, decoloniality, and political resistance through compositions, field recordings, and collaborative platforms. He is the founder of the Transhimalaya Foundation forTransdisciplinary Creativity (TFTC).

SATURDAY 2 MAY 06:00 - SUNDAY 3 MAY 05:00 → On Dawn Chorus Day, Reveil will make its thirteenth annual day-long loop of earth, travelling west on live audio feeds sent in by streamers around sunrise.

Reveil brings us together at a distance around its ephemeral streams from rural and urban places – birds, amphibians, weather and sounds we cannot identify. We have heard from some listening points for a decade. Others not yet. Each stream adds to the detail and diversity of the work.

REVEIL 13 will be mixed by invited guests and members of the Soundcamp Cooperative. REVEIL is assembled at Stave Hill Ecological Park (TCV) in London from 05:00 UTC+1 on Saturday 2 to 06:00 on Sunday 3 May 2026. Reveil 13 is supported by the creative technical network of the Acoustic Commons including: Full Of Noises, Locus Sonus, C**A, HMU, Cyberforest.

FRIDAY 1 MAY, 16:00-17:00 → What sounds are we exposed to at work? How do they shape our listening, our bodies, and our days?

This International Workers’ Day, Precarious Listening presents a one-hour special broadcast sharing materials from an ongoing open call by Ale Borea and the World Listening Project. The open call gathers recordings, voice notes, written reflections, auditory memories, complaints, and everyday traces of listening under conditions of labour.

This broadcast brings together background, repetitive, imposed, and exhausting sounds not as isolated events, but as ongoing conditions that accumulate over time.
