Ang pagboto ay hindi lamang isang karapatan, kundi isang prebilehiyong nakamit ng mamamayan upang pumili ng pinuno sa ilalim ng demokratikong sistema ng Pilipinas. Subalit, hindi maikakaila na sa kasalukuyang pamahalaan, paulit-ulit na lumilitaw ang mga isyu ng katiwalian at kapabayaan. Bagaman may mga lider na tapat at tunay na naglilingkod, tila ba naging “lumang tugtugin” na ang mga kwento ng pang-aabuso sa kapangyarihan.

Dahil dito, napakahalaga para sa kabataan na maunawaan ang tunay na diwa ng katagang “vote wisely.” Madalas itong marinig tuwing halalan, ngunit ang pagsasabuhay nito ay nananatiling hamon. Ang kakayahang pumili ng tama ay hindi lamang para sa pambansang eleksyon; ito ay dapat ding isabuhay sa loob ng pamantasan, kung saan hinuhubog ang susunod na henerasyon ng mga lider.

Sa Marinduque State University (MarSU)-Main Campus, nakatakda na ang halalan para sa mga bagong opisyal ng Supreme Student Council (SSC). Ang mga kandidato ay dadaan sa mahigpit na proseso: mula sa pag-file ng kanilang kandidatura, screening ng aplikasyon, opisyal na pag-anunsyo ng listahan ng mga tatakbo, hanggang sa panahon ng kampanya. Pagkatapos nito, isasagawa ang pagboto at pagbibilang ng boto na inaasahang tatagal ng dalawang araw, bago tuluyang ihayag ang mga opisyal na nanalo. Bagaman wala pang inilalabas na detalyadong giya ang pamantasan, inaasahang gagamitin ang online voting upang masiguro ang patas at mas malawak na partisipasyon ng mga estudyante.

Ngunit higit pa sa proseso, mahalagang tandaan na ang mga opisyal ng SSC ay hindi mga “boss” na may kapangyarihang mangibabaw sa kanilang nasasakupan. Sila ay mga lingkod na may pananagutan sa mga estudyanteng nagluklok sa kanila. Ang bawat boto ay may bigat, at ang bawat pagpili ay salamin ng ating pananaw sa kinabukasan ng pamantasan. Sa huli, ang tunay na kapangyarihan ay nasa kamay ng mga botante. Ikaw ang boses, kaya't responsibilidad mo ang gamitin ito ng tama.

The College of Engineering informs all students and faculty that classes will shift to Alternative Learning Delivery (ALD) from March 30 to April 1, 2026.

This adjustment is in observance of the Lenten Season and to give way to the scheduled Intellectual Property Training-Workshop.

Please be guided by the following:

• Classes will be conducted in asynchronous or flexible mode
• Academic deliverables will follow flexible deadlines
• Coordination with instructors is encouraged for requirements and concerns
• Limited face-to-face activities may be allowed if necessary, subject to approval

𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗟 | Paving Paths Forward

When does a legacy end? It is when a project is done? Or when a career is over? No, it only ends when it is forgotten. In engineering, the legacy ends not because the bridge collapses or the codes become outdated, but when the knowledge, values, and practices behind the work are no longer passed on. It is leadership through vision, mentorship, resilience, and teamwork that ensures that we are more than what we build.

Leadership is what keeps the legacy alive. It is not only about leading a group, but also about sharing knowledge, building bonds, and inspiring others to continue the work. A leader’s influence does not stop when they finished a task or project. It continues through the people they have taught and the values they carried forward.

In engineering, we are not just solving problems, we are creating a culture of teamwork, resilience, responsibility, and discipline. It starts with a vision, from a student simply asking “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘸𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥?” or when a lecturer challenges a class to consider how their design will affect the world. Leadership means looking beyond the immediate task and imagining what is possible for the future.

Of course, no one can work alone. Teamwork is the heartbeat of this profession. A true leader makes sure every voice at the table is heard. When we build a culture where people trust each other, we aren't just finishing a group project but we are setting a standard for how the next generation should work together.

However, everything does not always work in the way we wanted. Turning mistakes into lessons builds resilience that can be passed on. When leaders turn failures into lessons, when they mentor fellow students, and when they encourage collaboration, they build a legacy that lasts far beyond the lifespan of any machine or design.

Legacy, therefore, is the memory of leadership in action. We are who we are today because of the lessons passed down by those before us. As long as leadership inspires and knowledge is shared, the legacy of engineering will never end, it will live on in the things we build, the codes we write, and the lives we touch.

In compliance with Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by the Office of the President dated March 6, 2026, directing all government agencies and institutions to strictly implement energy conservation measures, Marinduque State University (MarSU) will adopt Hybrid Work Arrangements.

These include options for a Four-Day Workweek with One-Day Work-From-Home (WFH) (Friday as designated WFH) and a 4-Day Compressed Workweek (Friday as regular day off) for all University-based personnel, effective March 9, 2026 and shall remain in effect until lifted (OP Office Order no. 09, s. 2026).
