The Philippine Science High School-Mimaropa Region Campus celebrated the achievements and hard work of Batch Siklawan in its 4th Graduation Ceremony at the Philippine Science High School-MRC Auditorium on the 25th of May 2025.
The ceremony opened with a procession of employees and graduates, followed by the Entrance of Colors, the National Anthem, and a prayer led by Ms. Crystal Erandio. To proceed, Campus Director Dr. Romeo C. Ongpoy delivered the welcoming remarks and introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. Maria Claribelle Ogerio-Castroโa Pisay alumna, scientist, and educator. In her speech, Mrs. Castro encouraged the graduates to use their talents for the greater good, saying, โAng gintong tagumpay ay nasusukat sa kung paano natin ginagamit ang ating talino at talentoโupang tumulong sa kapwa, mag-ambag sa pagbabago at makiisa sa pag-unlad ng ating buong bayan.โ
The formal awarding portion followed, with Dr. Ongpoy presenting the candidates and Usec. Maridon O. Sahagun of DOST confirming the graduates. DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. also shared a brief message. Mrs. Marie Angelie Moreno led the Recognition of Honors and Special Awards, celebrating both academic excellence and leadership.
Five students graduated With Highest Honors: Junel Fiestada, Angelina Fernandez, Crystal Erandio, Divine Pablo, and Althea Fontamillas. Sixteen others earned With High Honors, including Ponch Materiales, Kathleen Cruz, Glaiza Famini, Tanya Fabella, Demi Rosales, Xin Delos Angeles, Joseph โJoloboiโ Cajayon III, Harold Fuentes, Delsy Sarmiento, Katrina Cruzado, Fuad Oczon, Kariza Gamul, Abernethy Mayor, Therese Jaranilla, Angela Gabutero, and Kenneth Peralta.
Among the special awardees, several students were recognized for outstanding performance in various subjects and fields. Junel F. Fiestada earned awards in Chemistry, Math, English, Social Science, and English Journalism, along with the DOST Secretary Award for Model Science Scholar and the PSHS Leadership Award. Other awardees included Joseph Jorge John Paul Ringo III D. Cajayon for Physics, Crystal Jean A. Erandio for Research, Angelina Rose G. Fernandez for Computer Science, Divine Grace A. Pablo for Filipino, Maeghan I. Diokno for Filipino Journalism, and Brylyn Crish L. Fabon for PEHM.
Following the awards, Divine Grace Pablo delivered a heartfelt Message of Gratitude, while Junel Fiestada led the Pledge of Loyalty. This was followed by the alumni pledge led by Mrs. Castro, a tribute video, and a graduation song by Batch Siklawan. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the DOST and PSHS hymns, marking the end of the class's journey at Pisay.
Reflecting on the moment, Fiestada remarked, โPisay journey was not easy because it was not supposed to be. Life is too.โ As caps flew and cheers rang out, the Class of 2025 stepped into a new chapterโprepared, resilient, and hopeful for what comes next.
