We live in a culture obsessed with platform, numbers, and influence. Even many in the church have adopted this mindset, measuring success by crowds, views, likes, or size. But the Word of GOD presents a radically different value system—one that sees eternal significance in just one soul.
Consider Andrew.
He was not among the most prominent of the apostles. We have no epistle bearing his name. He wasn’t called the “beloved disciple.” But in John 1:40–42, Scripture tells us:
“One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, ‘We have found the Messiah’... He brought him to Jesus.”
Andrew reached one person—his brother. And that brother became Peter, the man through whom GOD would preach at Pentecost, opening the kingdom of Christ to thousands.
If Andrew had thought, “What good is it to bring just one?”—where would we be?
Don’t despise the day of small beginnings.
Heaven doesn’t calculate like earth. Jesus left the ninety-nine for one lost sheep (Luke 15:4–7). Why? Because that one soul is of immeasurable worth to the Sovereign GOD who made him. That one soul bears the image of GOD (Genesis 1:27), and Christ’s blood was poured out to redeem individuals, not statistics (Revelation 5:9).
If you reach only one person with the gospel, it matters.
That one may be a future missionary, a preacher, a parent who raises a godly generation, or a quiet saint whose prayers shake eternity. You cannot know how GOD will use the seed you plant. But you must trust that His Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11).
“How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” – Romans 10:14
That “someone” might be you.
Don’t wait for a stage. Don’t long for the approval of man. Open your mouth. Share the gospel. Speak to your neighbor. Pray for that lost co-worker. Encourage that discouraged brother or sister. Teach that child. Write that letter. Send that text.
You may never see the harvest—but the LORD of the harvest sees your faithfulness.
One soul is enough.
Because one soul matters to GOD.
He sent His only Son to rescue that one.
He uses ordinary believers like you to reach that one.
He is glorified when you obey Him in faith, regardless of the visible results.
So labor on. Preach Christ. Reach the one.
Heaven will rejoice (Luke 15:7). And Christ will be glorified.
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the LORD, knowing that in the LORD your labor is not in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58
