INTERNATIONAL NEWS| Su***de bombing targeting Pakistan paramilitary kills 10 people and 33 injured, officials say

A su***de bombing outside a paramilitary headquarters in Quetta, Pakistan, resulted in at least 10 fatalities and 33 injuries on Tuesday. Following the bombing, several gunmen attacked the headquarters, leading to an ensuing gun battle with security forces, during which four attackers were killed. The provincial Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attacks, asserting that they would not hinder efforts toward development in the region. Victims included both civilians and soldiers; however, the specific number of military casualties remains uncertain.
Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, has become a focal point for increasing violence from both Islamist militants and separatist insurgents. The area is significant for its resources and is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a massive investment initiative aimed at enhancing China's influence. Although no group has claimed responsibility for the bombing, both the separatists and Islamist militants have intensified their activities recently, with Islamabad accusing India of supporting these factions to incite turmoil in resource-rich regions vital for international investments, a claim India denies.

ENTERTAINMENT NEWS| Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Is Here

Taylor Swift has released her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, after a nearly two-month anticipation following its announcement on the New Heights podcast in August. This album includes a collaboration with pop artist Sabrina Carpenter and is Swift’s first musical offering since her last album, The Tortured Poets Department. The music video for the lead single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” is set to premiere on October 5, directed and written by Swift herself.
The release comes after significant developments in Swift's career, including her acquisition of the rights to her first six albums, concluding a long-standing dispute with music executive Scooter Braun. Furthermore, she and Travis Kelce have recently announced their engagement, two years into their relationship.
The Life of a Showgirl was recorded during the European leg of her Eras tour and features collaborations with renowned producers Max Martin and Shellback, known for their work on many of Swift's iconic hits. This marks a significant shift as it is the first album in years not to include her past collaborator Jack Antonoff. Kelce described the album as more upbeat and fun compared to her recent works, suggesting a return to a commercial pop sound.
