Islamabad Capital Territory administration has re-imposed restrictions on market operating hours, directing all shops, markets, and shopping malls to close by 8pm throughout the week.

According to a notification issued by the district magistrate, restaurants, tandoors, grocery stores, bakeries, and fruit and vegetable vendors will be allowed to operate until 10pm. Marriage halls, marquees, and other venues hosting events, including those on private premises, must also shut by 10pm.

The new timings take effect immediately from Monday and will remain in force until further notice, as part of updated regulatory measures for commercial activity in the capital.

The Competition Appellate Tribunal (CAT) has upheld a Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) decision against Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan Limited, imposing a Rs. 30 million pen@lty over m!sleading marketing of its Strepsils product.

The tribunal found that the company violated Section 10(2)(b) of the Competition Act, 2010 by presenting the product as a medicinal treatment for sore throat despite its deregistration as a dr_ug and current classification as a food item.

The ruling came after a complaint by Square Distribution & Marketing System.

CAT also directed the company to fully comply with corrective measures issued by the regulator within the stipulated timeframe.
