ESWATINI THE 2ND LEADING COUNTRY IN SU***DE RATES

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has revealed that the Kingdom of Eswatini is the second leading country in su***de rates globally. Sindiso Bhembe, the National focal point for mental health at the MOH, said a study conducted in 2023 revealed that the country was placed third globally in su***de rates. She, however, mentioned that the latest statistics are more alarming as the country is now placed second.

She disclosed this during a breakfast meeting held by the Ministry, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, at the UN Offices today. The meeting was aimed at raising awareness for World Su***de Prevention Day 2025, which will be commemorated on September 10, 2025.

Eswatini’s Historic Pension Reform: From Uncertainty to Dignity

The Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) has been tasked by the Government to spearhead the transition to a national pension scheme. The objective is to replace a one-time lump sum payout with a guaranteed lifelong monthly pension.
