Attention all Frontier members!

In recent months, the military regime has made several moves to consolidate its grip on power, including battlefield offensives and preparations for a phased election from late December. The junta’s latest steps underscore its dual strategy of seeking legitimacy while escalating military operations. We will assess what these changes might mean for Myanmar’s political trajectory and the wider regional landscape.

Frontier’s Editor-at-Large Thomas Kean will be discussing all of the latest political developments with Maw Day Myar, general secretary of the Karenni State Consultative Council; Dr Sai Kyi Zin Soe, an independent political analyst; and Su Mon, Asia-Pacific senior analyst at Armed Conflict Location and Event Data (ACLED).Members will also have the chance to raise the questions.

This webinar is open exclusively to Frontier members, and is part of Frontier’s virtual event series which connects members with experts, and Frontier journalists, enabling participants to engage in high-level panel discussions.
