The “AI stole Lake Tahoe’s power” headline is a little too sensational.
The real issue is that AI demand is growing faster than grid infrastructure and utility planning were designed for.
That’s a much bigger story.

Google + Blackstone launching a massive AI cloud company is another signal that the future winners in AI may be the companies that control the chips, power, cooling, and data centers underneath it all.

Spent the night under the skies of Alpine capturing the Milky Way in one of the darkest places in Texas.

Moments like this remind me that progress and preservation both matter.
I’m excited about the future of AI, technology, and data centers… but we also have to build responsibly… protecting dark skies, reducing light pollution, and making sure places like this still exist for the next generation to experience.
