Americus has around 15,000 people.

In less than an week, our posts sharing Christina Rose Vinyard’s story have reached 26,800 views with 3,300 interactions.

That’s incredible.

But the numbers aren’t really what we’re celebrating.

We’re celebrating people.

Christina Rose Vinyard came to Americus to be closer to family, but along the way she found a community that welcomed her, a wonderful church to call home, and purpose in helping lead FYZICAL Americus as it continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

We had a blast talking about her journey to Americus, the growth of FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers, and simple things we can all do to stay strong and mobile as we get older. 💪

Christina also shared the incredible miracle story of their third son. Just 12 weeks into her pregnancy, a serious medical complication threatened both her life and their baby's. They were told their son was not expected to survive and that if he did, he could face significant challenges.

Christina and her husband put their future in God's hands.

Months later, their little boy was born completely healthy.

Such an incredible story and a must-listen!

Fun fact: Christina and I actually crossed paths years ago in Albany through some of the same Bible studies. Small world!

Four years ago this month, we recorded the first conversations that would become The Americus Podcast.

What started in the summer of 2022 as a simple idea has become one of the greatest joys of my life.

Since then we’ve had the privilege of sitting down with more than 80 people from every corner of our community. Business owners. Teachers. Coaches. Pastors. Doctors. Artists. Students. Nonprofit leaders. Public servants. Entrepreneurs. Neighbors.

Each conversation has reminded me of something I didn’t fully appreciate before we started:

Every person has a story worth hearing.

I’ve learned that Americus is full of people quietly serving others. That our city has incredible strengths alongside real challenges. That when we slow down and listen instead of assuming we understand, we discover hope, resilience, creativity, and a deeper love for our neighbors.

The podcast has changed me. It’s made me a better listener, a more hopeful neighbor, and someone who believes even more that meaningful change begins with relationships.
