New Episode This Sunday Evening

This week on The Americus Podcast, we sit down with Wesley “Wes” Beamon, candidate for Superior Court Judge in the Southwestern Judicial Circuit.

Wes has served our community in a variety of roles, from firefighter and paramedic to attorney and judge, and in this conversation, we focus less on titles and more on the person behind them.
Filmed in: Downtown Americus Main Street

We talk about:
• The experiences that shaped his path
• What he’s learned from seeing people on their hardest days
• His perspective on justice and our community
• Why this moment matters to him personally

Our goal with every episode is simple: to help our community better understand the people who live, work, and serve here.

Hey Next Level Neighbors and friends,

We’ve got a special conversation coming your way on The Americus Podcast this Sunday, and this one hits close to home.

This week we’re sitting down with Cassie Martin, a Sumter County native, veterinary assistant, artist, mom, and someone who has a deep love for both animals and this community.

Cassie’s story is one many of us can relate to.

She grew up right here in Americus, spent time living in places like Athens and New Orleans, and experienced everything those cities have to offer… more opportunity, more anonymity, more movement.

But then things shifted.

She came back.

And not just to live… but to invest.

In animals.
In people.
In community.

From working in veterinary care, to helping address pet overpopulation, to creating art, to raising her daughters here, Cassie is choosing to build something meaningful in a place many people feel like they need to leave.

In this episode, we talk about:
• What it’s really like growing up in Americus
• The pull to leave small towns, and what brings people back
• The real challenges our city faces
• Why community still matters
• And why Americus might be more valuable than we think

This conversation is honest, encouraging, and rooted in something we care deeply about:

Neighboring well together.

🎙️ New episode dropping soon. Our podcasts are recorded in dint forget to

Americus and Sumter County family 👋

If you’ve been on social media lately, you’ve probably seen the videos.

The streets.
The storefronts.
The charm.
The everyday moments that make this place home.

This Sunday evening on The Americus Podcast, we will post our sit down with the man who’s been flooding our feeds with simple, unfiltered glimpses of what makes Americus special.

Americus friends—we’re curious and listening.

In one or two words, how would you describe an Americus native?

Tell us a little about you:
• Are you a native or a transplant?
• If you’re a transplant, how long have you been here?

👉 Example:
Native – 20 years. Steady. Familiar.

This isn’t meant to be degrading, it’s meant to be honest.
We know some answers will be hard, some funny, some proud, and some painful. That’s okay.

Our goal is to better understand how people experience Americus and what it really means to be part of this community.

If you care about Americus, like, share, and tag a friend so we can hear from as many voices as possible.

Let’s keep it real, respectful, and thoughtful. 👇
