Homecoming Part 2! When the neighborhood babysitter goes to Homecoming Dance, then all the neighborhood kids show up. Thankful to be able to do life with this group.

We so enjoy Suzie’s great group of friends.

Bonus: It made it extra special to have Suzie’s 5th grade teacher drive by at that very moment.

I thought that I was going to lose my mind back when we had two kids under the age of two… but nights like this make it all worth it. Watching them get dressed up together and head to their homecoming dance made my momma heart so full. And judging by the nonstop giggles from the gaggle of girls who spent the night, I’d say the evening was a total win. 💕✨

I still remember vividly when God said, “What if” to me.

“What if” He is really the God who performs miracles?

“What if” God could allow the kid who found learning difficult to go on to graduate college?

“What if” God could use a kid with a terrible speech impediment to talk on-air?

What if” I trust and boldly followed Him no matter where He leads me?

Those two simple words started my radio career. I love what I get to do but more importantly I love the career that God has used in my life. Happy Radio Day!

We accidentally stumbled on the ultimate parenting hack — and I’m never going back.

Take your “Back to School” photos… the day before school actually starts. 🤯

Here’s the deal: We’ve been taking our kids’ first-day pictures in front of the school since kindergarten. Same spot, same pose — it’s tradition. But as they’ve gotten older, the enthusiasm? Gone. The eye rolls? Plentiful. And the idea of posing in front of their friends? Forget it.

So this year, we made a deal. The day before school started, they put on the school uniform, grabbed the backpacks, smiled for the camera… and the next day, they were free to just go to school. No photos, no fuss, no public embarrassment.

And you know what? It was magic. I got my perfect shots, they gave real smiles, and on the actual first day, I sipped my coffee in peace instead of chasing down teenagers with a phone.

Parenting level: Unlocked. 🙌

With us zip lining, white water rafting, rappelling, and hiking in a rainforest with biting creatures everywhere, I’m thankful that we didn’t add a hospital trip to our list! Ha! Guess it’s time to get back to reality now. But adventuring with my family in Costa Rica was amazing. What a beautiful, fun country. 🇨🇷
