Meet Josie, our amazing Lower Elementary Assistant at Peace Pod Montessori ✨

After moving to Georgia from California, Josie decided to step outside her comfort zone and applied for a teacher assistant position at a Montessori school—without any prior Montessori experience. That leap of faith turned into a true passion. She quickly fell in love with the Montessori philosophy and has been part of the Montessori community ever since.

Josie is drawn to Montessori because it gives children the space to be independent, learn hands-on, and work through conflict in meaningful ways. She loves the calm, intentional environment and the beautiful materials that invite curiosity and exploration. Through her journey, Montessori has helped Josie become a better listener and a thoughtful guide, showing her that it’s okay for children to make mistakes—because that’s how real learning happens.

As a parent, the transition wasn’t always easy at first. Letting children problem-solve on their own was very different from traditional schooling, but it reinforced her belief that Montessori is the best educational foundation for young learners. Today, it’s her number one choice for kiddos.

Outside the classroom, Josie loves spending time on nature walks with her family and dogs, browsing farmers markets and craft fairs, getting creative, and enjoying everything from Japanese and Korean to Mediterranean, Indian, and Thai cuisine 🍃🎨🍜 She’s also an avid reader, a fan of horror films, and loves music across many genres.

We are so thankful to have Josie as part of the Peace Pod Montessori family—helping guide, support, and inspire our students every day 💛
