💧🎙️ When Water Problems Travel: What Colorado’s Sewage Spill Reminds Us About Water Quality 💦🎧 Water Talk with Host Scott Whatley & Paul “The Waterman” Dowding at WaterPros.

What happens to a water contamination problem after it enters a river? Unfortunately, it doesn’t necessarily stay where it started. 🌊

On this edition of Water Talk, host Scott Whatley sits down with Paul “The Waterman” Dowding, Owner of Water Pro’s, to discuss a troubling Colorado water story involving approximately 4.2 million gallons of sewage spilling into the Arkansas River and moving downstream toward John Martin Reservoir.

💧 On this episode, you’ll hear about:
🚨 The Colorado sewage spill and why incidents like this can have impacts far beyond where they begin
🌊 How water quality problems can travel downstream, potentially affecting communities, wildlife and recreational areas along the way
♾️ PFAS—or “Forever Chemicals”—and why they continue to be a concern in our water
💊 Pharmaceutical residue, microplastics and other pollutants that may be present in the water we use every day
🚰 Why water that looks, smells and tastes clean may still contain contaminants that cannot be detected without proper testing
🏡 Why understanding the water coming into your own home is so important

The good news? You don’t have to guess about the quality of your water.

🔍 Water Pro’s offers a FREE, no-obligation in-home water test to help you better understand what may be in your water. Paul and the Water Pro’s team can explain the results and recommend a treatment system based on your household’s specific needs.

💙 Protect your family and learn what may be hiding in your water.

📞 Call Paul the Waterman at 303-862-5554 to schedule your FREE in-home water test and be sure to tell them Scott Whatley sent you!

On the 9/3/26 episode of YOUR LEGACY, YOUR WAY, Attorney Carolyn Duncan at Duncan Legal, PC, joins Host Scott Whatley to talk about the topic of: When Life Changes, Should Your Estate Plan Change Too?

Creating an estate plan is an important step, but it shouldn’t necessarily be a “one and done” decision. On this episode of Your Legacy Your Way, Attorney Carolyn Duncan discusses why your estate plan should evolve as your life changes.

Marriage, divorce, the death of a spouse, the birth of children or grandchildren, retirement, changes in health, buying or selling property, and significant financial changes can all be reasons to review your existing plan. Carolyn explains why it’s also important to periodically review the people you’ve chosen to serve as your personal representative, trustee, financial power of attorney, or medical decision-maker.

The conversation also covers beneficiary designations on retirement accounts and life insurance policies, protecting inheritances for younger beneficiaries, and what to consider if you’ve moved to Colorado with estate-planning documents prepared in another state.

The key message: Your estate plan should represent your family, finances, wishes, and circumstances today, not the life you were living 10 or 20 years ago.

Your Legacy Your Way helps you plan ahead, protect your family, and preserve the legacy you’ve worked hard to build.
Carolyn says her motto is “Helping People Solves Life’s Puzzles.”

On the 9/3/26 episode of the Legal Talk Radio Show on 560AM KLZ, host Scott Whatley sat down with Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law Denver Injury Accident Lawyers, about Driverless Cars Are Here — Who’s at Fault When There’s an Accident?

Driverless cars have officially arrived in Denver, and with this new technology comes an important legal question: If there’s no driver behind the wheel, who is responsible when something goes wrong?

Kevin discusses how autonomous vehicles like Waymo could change the way automobile accident claims are investigated and handled by insurance companies. In a traditional accident, determining fault usually focuses on the actions of the drivers involved.

But what happens when a computer is doing the driving? Kevin discusses the potential roles of the autonomous vehicle company, vehicle owner, manufacturers, insurance carriers, other motorists, and even technology or equipment failures when determining liability.

The conversation also covers what you should do if you’re involved in an accident with a driverless vehicle, including documenting the scene, gathering information, seeking medical attention when necessary, and protecting your legal rights. Technology may be changing who—or what—is behind the wheel, but determining fault, liability, and compensation remains critically important.

Also, take a look at your Auto Policy, check your Med Pay amount and your UnInsured/UnderInsured, Kevin encourages to buy as much as you can afford.

On this week’s 9/1/26 Medicare & More Show, Host Scott Whatley talks with Jim Garey, Owner of Silver Sherpa, Inc., explains the value of working with an Independent Medicare Broker and why it doesn’t cost the client more.

Jim discusses how every person’s Medicare needs are different based on their health, doctors, prescriptions, and individual circumstances, which is why choosing a plan simply because it works for a friend or relative may not be the best approach. He also explains that while some agents may avoid plans with low or no commissions, Silver Sherpa, Inc. helps clients explore all available options, regardless of commission, to find the program that best fits their needs.

On this week’s 9/1/26 Your Money Matters Radio Show, Kurt Rogers, Managing Broker at Affordable Interest Mortgage - Powered By IMB, our exclusive Mortgage Broker, talked about how today’s mortgage conversation always begins with interest rates, which continue to move up and down like a roller coaster based largely on the Fed Funds Rate and the 10-year bond market.

Kurt believes this “rollercoaster” will continue over the next 12 to 18 months, making it important for buyers and homeowners to focus less on timing the market and more on their personal financial situation.

Kurt emphasizes asking the right questions before purchasing or refinancing, starting with affordability. Understanding your total payment, principal, interest, taxes, insurance, and possible HOA fees, is key, with most homeowners targeting 35% to 45% of their monthly income.

Kurt also highlights the importance of credit scores, loan qualifications, and knowing your true costs, including closing expenses and cash-to-close. Whether buying or refinancing, being prepared financially and informed about your options can save thousands and lead to a much more confident decision.

08/28/2026

On the 8/28/26 episode of the Legal Talk Radio Show on 560AM KLZ, Attorney Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law Denver Injury Accident Lawyers, explains “Personal Injury” Law. While many people immediately think of car accidents, personal injury claims can arise from numerous circumstances, including truck and motorcycle crashes, slip-and-fall accidents, dog bites, unsafe property conditions, defective products, nursing home negligence, and even wrongful death cases.

Personal injury law covers a wide range of situations where someone suffers harm because of another person’s negligence, recklessness, or wrongful conduct.

A personal injury case is not limited to visible injuries such as broken bones. Victims may also experience traumatic brain injuries, neck and back injuries, chronic pain, emotional distress, lost wages, reduced earning capacity, and ongoing medical expenses. The impact of an injury often extends far beyond the initial accident and can affect a person’s health, finances, and quality of life for years.

The purpose of a personal injury claim is to help an injured person recover compensation for losses caused by someone else’s actions. This may include payment for medical treatment, future care needs, lost income, pain and suffering, and other damages. Understanding what qualifies as a personal injury claim is important, as many people may have legal rights they are unaware of following an accident or injury.

Attorney Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law has over 30 years of experience in Denver and throughout the State of Colorado. Kevin Flesch and their attorneys represent personal injury victims and people accused of criminal acts throughout the Denver area.

On the 8/20/26 episode of YOUR LEGACY, YOUR WAY, Attorney Carolyn Duncan at Duncan Legal, PC, joins Host Scott Whatley to talk about a topic that many of her clients have shown to not have much knowledge about or simply do not understand what the 5 year “Look Back”, actually means.

Carolyn says the Medicaid 5-Year Look-Back is one of the most misunderstood aspects of long-term care planning, yet it can have a significant financial impact on families. This episode explains what the look-back period is, why Medicaid reviews financial transactions made during the previous five years, and how those reviews determine eligibility for long-term care benefits.

Listeners will learn the critical differences between Medicare and Medicaid, including why Medicare generally does not cover extended nursing home care while Medicaid often becomes the primary source of assistance for those who qualify.

The discussion also explores why the look-back rule exists, what types of gifts and asset transfers can create problems, and how violations may result in a penalty period that delays Medicaid eligibility. Attorney Carolyn Duncan explains which assets may be exempt, including a primary residence under certain circumstances, one vehicle, personal belongings, and certain burial arrangements.

The program also highlights common mistakes families make, such as waiting until a health crisis occurs, giving away assets without understanding the consequences, failing to maintain financial records, or relying on well-meaning but inaccurate advice.

Most importantly, listeners will discover how proactive planning with an experienced elder law attorney can help protect assets, avoid costly mistakes, and provide greater peace of mind for themselves and their loved ones.

Carolyn says her motto is “Helping People Solves Life’s Puzzles.”
