We are proud to announce an official repress of Oxiplegatz’s 2nd album from 1996. Created by Alf from Grotesque and At The Gates using riffs that he had written for both bands (along with others) to create something very different, a scifi themed Symphonic/Avant-garde metal that sometimes sounds black metal and sometimes like something out of a dystopian Disney movie soundtrack. From Alf’s liner notes:
Well, another 40 minutes of OXIPLEGATZ is completed. After the first CD, which I admit wasn’t all that successful, I feel that I have moved a step closer to the vision of my minds eye. About the music: Part 3 - “Aftermath”, was partly inspired by the film “Keoma” by E.G. Castellan. Part 5 - “Graveyard Dream”, was written for Grotesque in ’90 (previously unreleased), other parts inspired by the distant futures, created by those extraordinary minds - J. Vance, L. Niven, R. Zelany, B. Shaw and many more. Due to the extended period of recordings, the character of the songs is not entirely uniform, but anyway, this record is dedicated to those who are openminded enough not to get lost in such petty details. To name a few (no particular order): Michael S. Berberian/Season of Mist. Decibels Storm, Chris/Sorrow Bequest, Thomas Ehrmann/Witchcraft, Volkmar/Cothurnas mag., John Niffenegger, Klas/Dark Divinity, Jean Louis Eyrard/Metal Stations, Holy Records, Agget/Agg tapes, all of ELEND, AT THE GATES, LIERS IN WAIT, DISSECTION, MARDUK/ALLEGIANCE, ORAL, Cliff and DRILLER KILLER, John and CARDINAL SIN, Martin Chandra, AcrWall Co., Viktor and Oskar Allerby, my girlfriend Anna (thanks for modeling for the cover and patiently putting up with my whims), and finally the few that actually like the first CD. Hail!
