Fred Bednarski was just a child when his family was removed from their home in Poland and moved to a N**i-forced labor camp. After being liberated by American troops and waiting four years to immigrate to the United States, Fred overcame the odds to become the first soccer style kicker in college football at The University of Texas at Austin and went on to serve in the United States Army and was sent by President Kennedy to keep the peace in Oxford, Mississippi as James Meredith became the first African-American student at Ole Miss.
