Zumbi dos Palmares was the leader of the great Palmares Quilombo, in colonial Brazil. He was killed by Portuguese forces on Nov. 20, 1695, after years of struggle. He is Brazil’s greatest hero of Black resistance. This is episode 77 of Stories of Resistance.

Trump could release Epstein files now—victims ask, why not?! - Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse, such as Haley Robson, Danielle Bensky, Liz Stein, Lisa Phillips, Annie Farmer, Jess Michaels, and many others spoke out today, encouraging Congress to put aside partisan issues and concentrate on the protection of women and girls. Lisa Phillips of the announced that she and the other survivors are launching the first nationwide survivor-led network to change how human trafficking is handled in the US. Many survivors thanked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) for their support, despite the pushback that these Republicans initially experienced. Robson addressed President Trump directly: "I'm grateful that you have pledged to sign this bill. I can't help to be skeptical of what the agenda is. So with that being said, I want to relay this message to you: I am traumatized. I am not stupid." And Lisa Phillips closed with these powerful words: "Alone, we are fearful. Together, we are feared."
