Discover a hidden treehouse along this scenic Western Massachusetts trail—and treat yourself to homemade ice cream afterward! 🌿🍦

📍 Mass Audubon’s () Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary in Easthampton, MA has quickly become one of my favorite spots to explore.

With 4 miles of gentle, scenic trails—including an 850-foot accessible trail—this spot offers something for everyone.

Wander through fern-lined forest paths, alongside marshes and wetlands, and past a vernal pool. Along the way, you may spot wildflowers and wildlife.

One of the coolest features of this trail? A hidden treehouse overlooking a peaceful pond. 🌳✨

Tips for our visit:
🚘 127 Combs Road, Easthampton, MA
⏰ Open daily dawn to dusk
🚾 Restrooms are available when the visitor center is open (Monday–Friday, 9 AM–3 PM) - they are exceptionally clean too!
🎟️ $4 admission fee; free for Northampton residents
🚫🐶No pets allowed on the trails

🍦After your hike, head to Mt. Tom’s Homemade Ice Cream (.toms.icecream), just an 8-minute drive away. You'll find about 50 delicious flavors of homemade ice cream including my favorite - chocolate chip cookie dough! Get your cone to go and enjoy it by scenic Nashawannuck Pond.

A short hike with BIG waterfall views 💦

Enders Falls in Granby, Connecticut packs in some incredible scenery—all within an easy to moderate, under-1-mile out-and-back hike!

📍 Located in Enders State Forest (over 2,000 acres!), this beautiful trail starts with a gravel path from the parking lot leading to the first set of falls. From there, turn left to find granite steps that guide you down along the river for an up-close view of the flowing waterfalls. Continue along the boardwalk to discover several more cascades—about 5 distinct waterfalls in total!

⚠️ You’ll notice warning signs near the cliffs—be sure to stay behind the railings for safety.

This spot an be popular or quieter depending on when you visit. We visited on a cooler weekend afternoon and it only saw a couple other hikers.

Tips for your visit:
📍 Located along Route 219 - Barkhamsted Road, Granby, CT (Map to Enders State Forest on Google Maps)
🚗 Free to visit and plenty of parking
🐶 Dogs are allowed
🚫 Swimming is not allowed

What to do post hike:
🍦 - small-batch, made in-house with constantly rotating flavors (one of my all-time favorites)
🍷 or perfect for a relaxing stop along the Connecticut Wine Trail
🌸 - homemade baked goods and the best hot chocolate, topped with giant house-made marshmallows

🚗 Traveling across the Kanc this weekend? Don't forget a stop at Rocky Gorge! This is one of the easiest waterfall areas to access along the famous 34.5 miles of the Kancamagus Scenic Byway.

❓If the lot is full, we suggest visting other scenic stops like Lower Falls or Sabbaday Falls.

☝️Remember to purchase your $5 parking pass for White Mountain National Forest along the way (or display your America the Beautiful pass).
