I’m so excited to be presenting at Ishtarfest again this year! This year I’m trying something a little bit different. Instead of infodumping at you for an hour, I thought I’d use my spot to have everyone engage in a guided discussion of one of our favorite ancient hymns, using it as a center point to share about our practices and experiences and build sacred community.
It’s time for another preview of Ishtarfest 2026!
Raising Our Voices for the Goddess
This session is part literary discussion, part sacred community building. We will begin by reading the well-loved hymn “The Exaltation of Inanna” by the high priestess Enheduanna, on which we will center a guided conversation discussing our personal spiritual practices and relationship with Inanna, ancient and modern traditions, and pagan community. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences and practices as we read the hymn, then share their thoughts with the group during a guided discussion. Some topics to consider include: How do you personally relate this hymn to your spiritual practice and relationship with Inanna, your daily life, and/or current world events? Does your spiritual practice affect how you show up in your community? What does the text say about spiritual devotion, community, and resilience? This session is your opportunity to be seen and heard authentically in a safe and welcoming environment, learn from others’ diverse experiences and perspectives, and build connections to foster a supportive and resilient community.
Rev. Jennifer “Nya” Wilber
Rev. Jennifer “Nya” Wilber is an ordained priestess and long-time devotee of Inanna from Cleveland, OH. She first encountered Inanna in her early teens, and went deeper into her spiritual practice while Inanna helped guide her back from the “underworld” experience of her breast cancer diagnosis in 2022. She has since dedicated herself to serving the goddess through her personal worship practice, environmental stewardship, and ministry to the pagan community. Nya’s ministry work is rooted in fostering connection between the divine, nature, and our own magickal inner potential. For more information on Nya and her ministry work, follow her online!
