🌲🏞️ Exciting News from Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge! 🏞️🌲

We are excited to announce that all hiking restrictions have been lifted! The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge has returned to normal activities and hours of operation, and our standard laws and regulations are now in effect. Thank you for your understanding and support during this time, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Hiking restrictions will continue to be lifted as long as Search and Rescue operations do not overwhelm local resources. We encourage everyone to prioritize safety while enjoying the great outdoors!

While the extreme heat has lessened, please remember that temperatures can still be high enough to pose potential safety risks. Here are some essential tips for your visit:

💧 Stay Hydrated: Bring and drink plenty of water.
📅 Plan Wisely: Monitor weather forecasts and limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
👕 Dress Appropriately: Wear loose, light-colored clothing and don’t forget a cap or hat to keep cool!

We can’t wait to see you back at the Refuge! Happy hiking! 🌞🚶‍♂️🌲
