I didn’t come back to prove anything. I came back to test everything🥋🔥.

Three years away from competition changes you.

Multiple surgeries change you.

A cardiac arrhythmia and ablation change you.

But they do not have to end your story.

I recently stepped back onto the jiu-jitsu mat after years away from competing, and I’m not going to sugarcoat it…

It was a battle.

At black belt, nobody is showing up casually.

Every opponent is experienced.
Every grip matters.
Every mistake costs you.

My match ended 0–0 and was decided by a single advantage.

That means I did not get dominated.

I did not get broken.

I did not quit.

I went back into the fire after years of rebuilding my body, my health, and my confidence. 💪

And that matters more to me than the result.

Because this was never just about winning a jiu-jitsu match.

This was about proving that setbacks do not own me.

✅ It was about metabolic health.
✅ It was about recovery.
✅💕It was about getting stronger from the inside out.
✅ It was about becoming the kind of person who still shows up, even after life punches hard.

You either win or you learn.

This time, I learned I’m still dangerous.

I’m still growing.

And I’m just getting started.

Follow me if you want to learn how to improve your metabolic health and follow more of my personal journey back to strength, performance, and purpose.

🚨 You’re Not Confused About Health Because You’re Failing…
You’re confused because everyone is selling you something.

Most people just want to feel better.

More energy.
Less inflammation.
Better labs.
Better sleep.
Better weight.
Better control of their health.

But the second they start searching for answers, they get hit with:

💊 another supplement
🥤 another green drink
📦 another monthly subscription
🧪 another test
🔥 another “miracle” protocol
📲 another influencer saying, “This changed my life”

And suddenly, getting healthy feels like a full-time job.

In this clip Miss Hindy Friedman and I talk about how easy it is to fall into expensive health rabbit holes when you are trying to become a better version of yourself.

Because the problem is not always effort.

Sometimes the problem is noise.

Too much information.
Too many opinions.
Too many products.
Not enough clarity.

And that is where people get stuck.

They are doing research.
They are listening to friends.
They are trying new things.
They are spending money.

But they still do not know what is actually helping.

The message is simple:

Before you buy another product, join another program, or chase another trend…

Ask yourself:

Is this creating clarity, or just adding more confusion?

💭 Question for you:
What is the biggest health or wellness trend you tried that did NOT live up to the hype?

As an industry there is a time in place for what we offer. However, we are no longer in our lane.

Our marketing has become driven by the almighty dollar 💵 and does not necessarily have the patient’s best interest in mind.

🚨 Your body isn’t broken. It’s communicating.

The symptom is rarely the whole story.

We’ve been taught to treat health like a repair job.

One symptom.
One problem.
One fix.

But what if that mindset is exactly why so many people never get to the root cause?

In this clip from the Decoding Health Podcast, Hindy Friedman challenges the old idea that the mind and body are separate.

That separation changed medicine.

It made us think the body could be treated like a static object.

But your body is not static.

It is alive.
It is energetic.
It is connected.
It is constantly responding.

And that is the key message:

You cannot separate how someone feels from how their body functions.

🧠 The mind matters.
⚡ Energy matters.
🔥 Mitochondria matter.
💬 Your lived experience matters.
🧬 The whole system matters.

Hindy explains that mitochondria are more than tiny “powerhouses.”

They may act like central hubs that connect different pathways in the body — influencing energy, biology, function, and how we actually feel.

This is why health cannot always be reduced to one symptom, one lab value, or one diagnosis.

Sometimes the body is asking us to look deeper.

To connect the dots.

To stop treating the person like separate parts.

🚨 Your Brain Has an Energy Problem Nobody Talks About

Most people think metabolism is only about weight loss.

Burn more calories.
Build more muscle.
Move more.
Eat less.

But what if metabolism is also one of the biggest missing conversations in brain health?

In this clip Miss Hindy Friedman and I break down a powerful idea:

Your brain is one of the most energy-hungry organs in your body.

And if your energy system is struggling, your brain may feel it too.

That is why there is growing interest in nutrition strategies like the ketogenic diet and carnivore diet for conditions involving the brain, mood, cognition, PTSD, and even schizophrenia.

Not because food is magic.

But because the brain runs on energy.

And energy depends on mitochondria.

And that is the key message:

Metabolism is not just about your waistline.
It is not just about your muscles.
It is not just about how many calories you burn.

It is about how well your cells create energy.

Especially your brain cells.

🧠 Brain energy matters.
🔥 Mitochondria matter.
⚡ Cellular energy matters.
💪 Muscle matters.
🥩 Nutrition matters.
🧬 Metabolic health matters.

If we want to talk about mental clarity, focus, mood, fatigue, and long-term brain health, we have to talk about metabolism.

Because the brain is not separate from the body.

It is powered by the same cellular systems.

🚨 Still exhausted after sleeping? Your mitochondria may be trying to tell you something.

We were all taught the same thing:

“Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell.”

Simple, right?

They make ATP.
They produce energy.
They keep the lights on.

But what if that schoolbook definition is way too small?

In this clip from the Decoding Health Podcast, the conversation with Miss Hindy Friedman goes deeper into what mitochondria actually do inside the body.

Because mitochondria are not just little energy factories.

They are sensors.

They listen to what is happening in the body.
They respond to stress.
They process signals.
They help decide how your body creates and uses energy.

And that changes everything.

Because if your mitochondria are overwhelmed, stressed, or not functioning well, you may feel it as:

⚡ Low energy
🧠 Brain fog
🔥 Poor recovery
😴 Constant fatigue
📉 Reduced resilience
🧬 Metabolic dysfunction

And that is the key message:

Your energy problem may not just be a sleep problem.

It may be a mitochondrial problem.

🧬 Mitochondria matter.
⚡ ATP matters.
🔥 Cellular health matters.
🧠 Stress resilience matters.
💪 Energy production matters.

The future of health is not just chasing more caffeine, more stimulants, or more quick fixes.

It is understanding what your cells need to actually create energy.

🚨 Your A1c Is a 90-Day Warning Signal

Most people think blood sugar is about what happened today.

That meal.
That snack.
That glucose spike.
That CGM reading.

But your A1c tells a bigger story.

In this clip from this episode, the conversation breaks down hemoglobin A1c — often thought of as your “sugar score” — and why it gives a longer-term picture of blood sugar control.

A CGM can show what is happening right now.

But A1c reflects a more stabilized average over roughly the last three months.

That means if you are trying to improve your blood sugar, you may not see A1c change overnight.

It takes consistency.
It takes time.
It takes understanding what your body is telling you.

And that is the key message:

A1c is not just a lab number.
It is not just a checkbox.
It is not something to ignore.

It is a metabolic signal.

🩸 Blood sugar matters.
📊 A1c matters.
⏳ The 90-day window matters.
🔥 Insulin sensitivity matters.
🧬 Metabolic health matters.

🚨 “Prediabetes” Sounds Harmless. That’s the Danger.

It sounds like:

You still have time.
It’s not serious yet.
You’re not really diabetic.

But what if “pre” is making people wait too long?

In this clip from the Decoding Health Podcast, the conversation breaks down hemoglobin A1c — your “sugar score” — and why a rising A1c should not be ignored just because it falls into the prediabetes range.

Because by the time A1c shows up abnormal, your body may already be signaling a deeper issue with blood sugar regulation, insulin sensitivity, and metabolic health.

Prediabetes is not a waiting room.

It may be the first visible sign that your metabolism has been struggling for years.

🩸 Blood sugar matters.
🔥 Insulin sensitivity matters.
📊 A1c matters.
⚠️ Warning signs matter.
🧬 Metabolic health matters.

The goal is not to wait for an official diagnosis.

The goal is to catch the warning signs early and take action before things progress.

🚨 Prediabetes Isn’t Pre-Anything

That word can make people feel safe.

“Pre” sounds early.
“Pre” sounds mild.
“Pre” sounds like there is still plenty of time.

But when hemoglobin A1c starts moving into the prediabetic range, your body may already be showing signs of impaired blood sugar control.

That is the problem with the label.

It can make people think they are not really dealing with a serious metabolic issue yet.

But your A1c is not just a number on a lab report.

It is a signal.

🩸 Blood sugar is speaking.
🔥 Insulin sensitivity matters.
⚠️ Early warning signs matter.
📊 Your “sugar score” matters.

In this clip, the conversation breaks down why rising A1c should not be dismissed — and why “borderline” blood sugar may be a bigger warning sign than most people realize.

The goal is not to wait until diabetes becomes official.

The goal is to recognize what your body is telling you early.

🚨 Peptides Are Signals — But What If Your Body Can’t Hear Them?

Peptides are not magic.

They are messages.

But what happens when your body is too inflamed, depleted, or metabolically stuck to respond?

In this clip, Dr. Sabrina Solt explains why peptide therapy is not just about the peptide.

It is about the body receiving it.

Peptides push biological pathways.

But those pathways require support.

If the body is missing the nutrients, metabolic foundation, or internal environment needed to respond, the results may fall short.

The peptide may not be the problem.

The body may not be ready.

🧬 Biology matters
🔥 Inflammation matters
🥗 Nutrient status matters
⚡ Metabolic health matters
🧠 The host matters

Dr. Solt shares that some peptides may still have an effect without perfect optimization.

But using peptides without first addressing the patient’s foundation can limit outcomes — and may not be the responsible approach.

The future of peptide therapy is not just protocols.

It is personalized optimization.

Prepare the body.
Support the pathways.
Understand the person.

Because signals only work when the system can respond.

🚨 “I Don’t Have Time to Cook” Might Be the Biggest Nutrition Myth

Most people say they don’t have time to cook.

They think healthy eating takes too much effort.
Too much planning.
Too much discipline.
Too much time in the kitchen.

But what if cooking real food is actually faster than waiting for fast food?

In this clip, Dr. Sabrina Solt shares a practical way to rethink healthy eating.

It does not have to be fancy.
It does not have to be complicated.
It does not have to take an hour.

Sometimes it can be as simple as:

🥩 100% beef patties cooked in their own rendered tallow
🔥 A ribeye seared in tallow
🧂 Simple seasoning
⏱️ Real food ready in minutes

And here’s the powerful comparison:

You can cook a steak in about 7 minutes.

But a fast-food drive-thru line can easily take 20 minutes or more.

That changes the conversation.

Maybe the problem is not that healthy food takes too long.

Maybe the problem is that we have been trained to believe processed food is always the most convenient option.

Real food can be simple.
Protein-first meals can be practical.
Healthy habits can fit into a busy life.

🥩 Nutrition is not about perfection.
🔥 It is about preparation.
⏱️ It is about simplicity.
🧬 It is about building habits that support your biology.

The future of health is not more processed “convenience.”

It is real food, metabolic health, protein-first nutrition, and practical daily discipline built around your lifestyle and long-term health goals.
