I didn’t come back to prove anything. I came back to test everything🥋🔥.
Three years away from competition changes you.
Multiple surgeries change you.
A cardiac arrhythmia and ablation change you.
But they do not have to end your story.
I recently stepped back onto the jiu-jitsu mat after years away from competing, and I’m not going to sugarcoat it…
It was a battle.
At black belt, nobody is showing up casually.
Every opponent is experienced.
Every grip matters.
Every mistake costs you.
My match ended 0–0 and was decided by a single advantage.
That means I did not get dominated.
I did not get broken.
I did not quit.
I went back into the fire after years of rebuilding my body, my health, and my confidence. 💪
And that matters more to me than the result.
Because this was never just about winning a jiu-jitsu match.
This was about proving that setbacks do not own me.
✅ It was about metabolic health.
✅ It was about recovery.
✅💕It was about getting stronger from the inside out.
✅ It was about becoming the kind of person who still shows up, even after life punches hard.
You either win or you learn.
This time, I learned I’m still dangerous.
I’m still growing.
And I’m just getting started.
