Through the Holy Spirit, He gives us the power and responsibility to intercept our thoughts before they take root in our hearts. 💟

So thankful for this HOPE and GRACE!

2 Cor. 10: 3-6
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
On the contrary, our weapons have divine power to demolish strongholds.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God,
and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.”

Steps to take for this to take root in our lives:

#1. [Be Aware]
Pay attention to your thoughts and identify those that are negative, anxious, or contrary to God's Word.

2. [Capture & Challenge]: Mentally "arrest" and take captive that thought and see if it aligns with Scripture.

3. [Use God's Word]: Meditate and KNOW Scripture (like Philippians 4:8) to find truth to replace the lie.

4.[Submit to Christ]: Deliberately bring that thought under the authority of Jesus, and ask Him to help you change the thought and think as He would.

5. [Practice & Focus]: This takes consistent effort, like training a muscle. To be aware of our thoughts, know Scripture so we can realign our thinking, and to allow the Spirit to change our thoughts, which will then change our hearts, decisions, actions and life. 🧠 🙏 💪 📕 ✨

Thinking of the Israelites of the Old Testament and their longing for a Savior.
Thinking of us as we await in this dark, cold world our Savior’s return.

The longing we feel to be made right.
The longing we feel for those we love to not suffer.
The longing we feel to experience joy and peace.
To be with our loved ones.
To not feel the darkness.
To not be afraid.

Light!
Thank you Jesus for being our light.
In every way.
You give hope,
no matter our circumstances.
No matter what happens in this short life,
You are the answer.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.”

⬇️ A humble reminder from an imprisoned man who never married, never had children, spent the last 2 years of his life in prison and died as a martyr at the young age of 39.

Then we are reminded in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 to
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

How sweet it is to be able to read a part of God’s will for our lives.

May you each truly have a Happy Thanksgiving, no matter where you may find yourself on the inside or the outside. ❤️
