Chickasha Mayor Zach Grayson proclaims Sunday November 16th as Taste the World Day. The USAO International Students Club will be cooking some of their favorite foods from their home countries. More than 20 countries will be represented. It will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening in the USAO Ballroom. It is free and open to the public.

100-year old U.S. Army and Air Corps veteran Al ‘AV’ Looper (second from left) attended the Veterans Day program held by the Oklahoma Veterans Recognition Committee at the Chickasha Elks Lodge yesterday. He was presented with an honor quilt from the Elks Lodge. He was accompanied by his son David (far left) and daughter Mary Braziel (center).

Due to the forecast for cool temperatures and gusty winds, the Veterans Day ceremony normally held at the Grady County Veterans Memorial at Chickasha’s Shannon Springs Park has been moved to the Chickasha Elks Lodge. It will start at 11:00 a.m. Please share.
