When I became a First Lady, all of my focus was on the church… how I should serve… and whether I was doing enough.

I dressed a certain way to please people. I received compliments, but slowly—I was losing myself.

If we’re not careful, people will try to shape us into who they think we should be.

God never called us to lose ourselves—He called us to be who He created us to be.

When you are married to a pastor or work in ministry, you will experience seasons of loneliness. You pretend that everything is okay. People expect you to have it all together—and because you don’t want to let anyone down, it feels easier to put on a mask. You get so used to being there for others that you don’t feel free to share your own struggles. But remember—God is the safest place for your pain.”

❤️ You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. Take the mask off, breathe, and let God meet you where you really are.
