Are these our new digs?? Alas, sightseers, they are not. As much as I would love them to be, they belong to our friend who graciously gave me permission to give you all a mini tour for our latest YouTube episode. Believe it or not sightseers, one of the things we keep kicking around is the idea of going full-time on the road. You know, selling EVERYTHING and becoming nomads living off grid in a van down by the river. Or… maybe you would find us tooling around the countryside in an old converted skoolie ala the Partridge Family. Except they had like six kids or something and sang for a living, and I can’t even learn to play the ukulele so maybe not. Nevertheless, in our latest episode we talk about our years on the road, what’s kept us from taking the leap, and share some of our reasons for why we often dream about doing something so insane.

Hey Sightseers 👉🏻Not everything I film makes it in the show. Introducing my first ever Trash Bin Follies 🚮 where SightseeingSally’s biggest blunders take the spotlight & hit your feed!

These are all rejects from yesterday. I landed up at another Oddballs Wisconsin location and fell down a rabbit hole of even more bizarre Wisconsin history than what we encountered in Winneconne!!! 🛸 The only thing missing was a meeting with Mulder & Scully. Otherwise, my trip was complete.

🎙️Attention please! Somewhere forgotten in da U.P. between a rock and a tree sits America’s smallest village with… wait for it… A BREWERY!!! And guess who released a new episode featuring this tiny town just in time for Thirsty Thursday?! Your favorite sightseer!
Woohoo!!! 🥳
Of course I was so excited to let you know about this fun episode that I didn’t bother to edit out this cheeky little grass blade that appears to be doing something inappropriately… [suddenly realizes what she’s saying, blushes & clears throat nervously as the whole room suddenly goes quiet] 🤦🏼‍♀️ AHEM, well never mind THAT. I’m just gonna pretend like we all didn’t see and move along [as she starts inching towards the door] Uh, kinda like what happened during the making of this video.
Yeah, sorta like that. Anyways, as I was saying, this week’s vid is out, sightseers. Cheers! 🍻 [drops mic and makes mad dash out of the room] 💃🏼
[Then peeks head around the door frame] One more thing, this rock is known by the locals as Split Rock. Bye.

The Leo Shuffle

DISCLAIMER: Contrary to what Leo might have you think, no little dogs were harmed in the creation of this post.

Ever since we bought our boat, I’ve been sitting here wondering why we’re so short on cash. Well sightseers, I think I finally figured it out. It’s not the darn boat, it’s Leo!!!!

Meanwhile in the background music begins to play with what sounds like a chubby little chihuahua singing along to Boz Scaggs:

🎶Leo will be runnin’, havin’ great big funnin’ till he got the note
Sayin’ toe the line or blow it and that was all she wrote
Leo, whoa oh oh oh🎶

Then the music abruptly stops. Some whispers can be heard in the background: “Darn it Leo, as long as you’re living under our roof it’s our rules. I don’t care what Boz Scaggs has to say, you’re NOT Lido, you’re not running anymore hustles, and we’re gonna have a little talk about your late night shopping sprees on Amazon as soon as I’m done.”

$%@! What can I say, there’s a reason we call him El Pequeño Diablo Blanco behind closed doors. 🤦🏼‍♀️

P.s. Leo says in his defense that lime green wig cost only 99 cents on clearance. 🐾

P.p.s. Leo says that although he promises no more late night shopping sprees, he is a natural born hustler and until I stop putting him on a diet, he’s “gonna do what a dog’s gotta do” whatever that means. 💩

Folks from Wisconsin know that living on a lake up north is way more fun with a boat. It’s basically a necessity like having beer with brats or cheese on eggs or something.

As some of you know, we’re a couple of odd ducks. Quack quack 🦆 hahaha 😝 I couldn’t resist. Anyway, back to what I was saying… we’ve been living up here nearly 10 years and most of that time has been without a boat. The last boat we had spent more time on our back patio collecting creepy spiders, dead lady bugs, and leafy bits than riding any waves. It was nothing fancy - just an old aluminum fishing boat Marty had collected for some reason, I don’t know. He eventually parted ways with it and that was that.

For a number of years I had a paddle board, which I used a lot in the beginning. BUT after I started having dizzy spells relating to my heart issue, I gave up paddle boarding & sold it.

We also had a jet ski for two summers that spent more time floating next to our dock than anything else. After taking up room in our garage for the last time we sold that one, too.
It was after that when Marty decided what we really needed was an old pontoon boat. His specs meant that the boat MUST run, be absolutely nothing fancy and really, really cheap, like almost *free* cheap.

After searching high & low summer after summer, Marty FINALLY found the one… an old 1982 Sylvan Pontoon Boat!!! Of course, it would be hotter than a sweaty ol’ pit stain on a pig in Southern Mississippi that day and I had been working my butt off trying to get our place in order before my parents showed up for a much overdue visit BUT when Marty says that he has found the deal of the century & we need to go NOW one doesn’t jack around. Thus, sweaty & disheveled I suddenly found myself running off to check out a 40 year old pontoon boat last Monday afternoon. ⚓️

Long story short, we bought the boat… without testing it out first. 🚣‍♀️

There’s a saying that the two happiest days of a boat owner’s life are when they get their boat and when they sell the boat. I can attest to the first part. The deal we got on this old boat was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Question is, will the darn thing even FLOAT??? Find out in our latest episode available to watch free on YouTube now. Link below ⬇️
