Ho. Ho. Ho, Time Travelers...

In just a matter of hours, I'll be going into the studio to broadcast my last regular Time Machine Show. I hope you can tune as I'll be playing the music and memories of Christmas in the 1960s!

In the coming weeks, my friend and fellow programmer Chris Abernathy will be taking over the keys and punchcards to the KOPN Time Machine. I hope you'll be tuning him in as he continues the Wednesday night 1960s tradition at our little community radio station—broadcasting from CoMo throughout the galaxy. Merry Christmas!!

Today, we join the global music community in mourning the loss of Steve Cropper.

As a member of Booker T. & the M.G.’s and the Stax Records house band, Steve helped shape the very heartbeat of American soul music. His unmistakable guitar lines, songwriting genius, and commitment to the craft left a mark on music around the world.

Steve was a collaborator, a leader, and a friend. His contributions helped define what came to be known as the Memphis sound. His work with Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Eddie Floyd, and so many others carried a spirit of authenticity and innovation that still resonates through our halls every day.

We are forever grateful for his contributions and the legacy he brought to Soulsville.

Our hearts are with his family, friends, and fans everywhere.�

Rest in power, Steve.
