Meet Samantha Henry - Partnerships Manager & Event Coordinator at Goldberry Roasting Company!

Samantha came to Goldberry in 2020 to run our Oberlin College Café. Since then, Sam has proved to be a hugely valuable part of our team and has taken on the added responsibilities of managing wholesale partnerships as well as scheduling events in our coffee house space and for our coffee trailer. Sam carries out the Goldberry mission of making people's lives better with everything that she does both at work and outside of work.

In partnership with our Coffee Growing Community and located on the southern slopes of Mt. Kenya near the town of Kianaga, the Nyanja Factory is part of the Baragwi Farmers’ Cooperative Society (FCS), one of Kenya’s most established cooperatives. Baragwi FCS was founded in 1953 and today supports over 11,700 smallholder farmers, each managing their own farms. The cooperative provides centralized processing through its network of 12 wet mills, including Nyanja, and offers training in agronomy and quality improvement practices. Nyanja sits at 1,610 MASL, an altitude that supports slow cherry development, resulting in dense beans with layered, complex flavors.

The coffee at Nyanja is fully washed, a process that produces the clean, crisp profiles for which Kenyan coffees are worldrenowned. Freshly harvested cherries are delivered daily, sorted for ripeness, depulped, fermented, washed, and sun-dried on raised beds, preserving clarity and vibrancy in the final cup.

Big news from The Inn at Honey Run!

Dear Honey Run Friends,

Fall has begun and as we prepare for the winter slumber of the forest and wildlife, this year is different than most. Normally after the fall we slow down a little and have a chance to catch our breath from the influx in business for the fall foliage. But this year we will be just as busy if not busier as we work feverishly over the winter to fully renovate all our rooms at The Inn.

You have seen the announcement about the Club-level Honeycombs a few weeks ago but this is just the beginning! Some other high points to note:
Every Room at The Inn will be remodeled between December 1, 2025, and May 1, 2026. That means that in May for the first time since the Inn opened in 1982 every room will be brand new.

Join us tomorrow, Thursday, October 9th, for our monthly statewide prayer call where we highlight individuals and ministries advancing God’s Kingdom across Ohio and beyond!

This month’s guest speaker is Darlene Yost from Cleveland, Ohio, a devoted wife, mother of three, physical therapist, and pastoral counselor. Her husband, Dave Yost, serves as the Attorney General of Ohio, leading a team of more than 1,400 professionals dedicated to protecting and serving Ohioans. Since taking office in 2019, he has focused on combating the opioid crisis, fighting public corruption, and holding powerful corporations accountable. His office works to “protect the unprotected” by pursuing justice, supporting victims, and safeguarding consumers—ensuring fairness and equal treatment for every Ohioan, regardless of background or circumstance.

Darlene will share what it means to live out her faith in the public arena and how we can pray for her, for Dave, and for the many challenges facing our state. Let’s join together in unity and faith—believing that our God is faithful and that prayer is powerful!
