Artists in Sculpture created something BIG out of something…small….

We used recycled materials (and approximately 100 jumbo glue sticks 🫣) to make these sculptures come to life! From chapstick to birthday cake jelly cats (thats a very popular brand of stuffed animals these days!) students learned about proportion and scale. But mostly they got their feet wet with sculpture and had some fun creating!

Ceramics students have been working on perfecting the double pinch pot by making pumpkin luminaries!

These are currently in the greenware state, so they will dry for about 2 weeks then into the kiln for the bisque fire. Students will add glaze and then one more fire before we see their full potential! 🎃

Sculpture students are working cardboard sculptures that focus on scale and proportion. Their goal is to make something *BIG* out of something *small*.

As always, our goal is to create with craftsmanship, utilize our creative problem solving skills and follow our plan but being willing to PIVOT when challenges arise!

I’m excited to see the results of their first big project!
