My wife and I had the privilege of joining the Parker family for the ribbon cutting of the brand-new Parker’s Kitchen gas and convenience store off Highway 501 in Conway!

After the ceremony, I enjoyed hosting members of their team along with our local leaders for lunch as we talked about the exciting future ahead for Conway.

Be sure to stop by and check them out- and a big thank you to Parker’s Kitchen for investing in Horry County as well as donating $5,000 to Horry County Schools!

I’m so thankful that on this Sunday, I was able to wake up in a country where I can freely take my family to church and worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Sadly, many around the world don’t share this same freedom — a sobering reminder of just how precious and valuable our freedom truly is.

A simple act of patriotic kindness you can show today is saying thank you to a veteran who put their life on the line to defend our great American freedom. 🇺🇸

Take a moment to thank a vet and say a prayer for all the brave men and women in uniform who continue to defend our nation both at home and abroad!

What I love about living in a small town like Conway is that I can truly feel the American dream coming to life right here at home.

When I go for a run through my neighborhood, there are a few things that always catch my attention. The smell of a homemade meal being cooked as a family gets ready to sit down together. The scent of fresh laundry drifting through the air from a dryer vent. And my favorite — seeing kids’ bicycles in the yard, knowing that children are still being kids, laughing, and having fun.

It’s moments like these that remind me what makes small-town America so special. It’s not about having everything — it’s about appreciating the little things that make life good.

Faith, family, and freedom… that’s what Conway is all about.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to the great Charlie Kirk!

Your voice still echoes through a generation determined to defend truth, faith, and freedom. May your legacy continue to roar through the movement to preserve the conservative Christian values that make America the greatest nation on earth!

President Trump’s administration continues to do the unthinkable.

Today, we witnessed a historic peace deal in Israel and the long-awaited release of remaining hostages.

Even in the darkest times, this moment reminds us that hope and diplomacy must never be abandoned.

Let us continue to pray and push for peace — for nations torn by conflict, for families awaiting reunion, and for leaders with the courage to act.

Blessed are the peacemakers. - Matthew (5:9)

We are grateful for our veterans every single day, for the sacrifices they’ve made, and for the courage they showed in serving our country.

We also honor those around the world keeping us safe and defending the freedoms we hold dear. Thank you for your service, dedication, and unwavering commitment!

Pete Hegseth delivered a powerful speech and prayer for his troops today at the Department of War.

This is what strong leadership looks like—grounded in faith, conviction, and a belief in peace through strength. Grateful for leaders who stand firm in both prayer and principle.

With the threat of tropical weather approaching our area, I am praying for the Lord’s hand of protection over everyone. On my run today along Crabtree, I was thankful to see the water level so low—a true blessing should heavy rain come our way.

I was also reminded of something I’ve known for a while: Crabtree Canal, along with our river systems, needs to be dredged to maximize water flow and storage. The people of Horry County know all too well the devastating effects of flooding.

Anything we can do together—whether at the city, county, or state level—to prepare before storms arrive is a step in the right direction for protecting our community.

As my wife and I were driving on Highway 378, I couldn’t help but wonder—how is it that 378 is four lanes most of the way from Columbia toward Myrtle Beach, but shrinks to two lanes once you hit Horry County and stays that way through nearly the entire county?

We are the fastest-growing county in South Carolina, welcoming millions of tourists every year, while our locals sit in constant traffic. Our infrastructure is decades behind.

If we want to keep up with growth, keep our roads safe, and keep traffic moving, it’s time we get our fair share of state dollars. We deserve better.
