Gabe Wilson was sworn in as Council’s new mayor this evening.

City council members Mendy Stanford and Dan Huter were also sworn in to their new terms. They ran unopposed in November so an election was not held for them.

Updated plans for the 2,200-acre Red Ridge Development will be back before the Valley County Planning and Zoning Commission for a public hearing on Feb. 25.

Plans submitted to Valley County include 722 homes on about 800 acres of the property, the same updated proposal that was presented to neighbors of the project in a meeting on Nov. 10.

The public hearing before the P&Z commission is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Valley County Courthouse in Cascade.

The update includes 408 fewer homes than the first proposal that was pulled from consideration in Dec. 2024.

Traffic lights on Boydstun Street and deed restricted units for local housing are part of the proposal.
