Pedestrian shuttle service to begin on Cozad Viaduct!

Weather permitting, on April 23, the N-21 Cozad Viaduct.
The pedestrian sidewalk at reference post 13.83 will CLOSE for bridge construction, according to the NDOT.

The ADA-compliant shuttle service will transport pedestrians from East 7th Street to 2nd Street.
**Pick-up and drop-off locations will be at the intersection of 2nd Street and N-21 and the northeast corner of 7th Street and N-21, south of Sonny’s Super Foods.

The shuttle service will run seven days a week. Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., the shuttle will pick up passengers at the top and bottom of the hour at the 7th Street location, and at the
quarter hours at the 2nd Street location. To schedule an overnight ride between the hours 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., please schedule an appointment by calling (308) 529-5835 two hours in advance.
Lobato Construction, LLC, of Brighton, Co., is the contractor for this project.

Weather permitting, construction will begin on April 7, on State
Highway 21 (N-21) in Cozad at reference post 13.83, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Lobato Construction, LLC, of Brighton, Colo., is the contractor for this project. Work includes repair and resurfacing of the N-21 viaduct over the Union Pacific Railroad, including new street lighting and sidewalk. Traffic will be reduced to one lane controlled by temporary traffic signals. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place. A pedestrian shuttle will be operated while the sidewalk is closed. The anticipated completion is fall 2025.

The purpose of this project is to preserve transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system, and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.

Motorists should expect reduced speeds and lane reductions within the work zones and are reminded to drive cautiously through highway construction zones.
