After much thought, I’ve made the decision to close Meltdown Express. 😢

This Saturday, I’ll be serving a graduation party in Fremont, and it will be our final event before the trailer is officially retired and offered up for sale. I will still continue the catering you have all come to love.

What started as an idea turned into an adventure filled with long days, late nights, mechanical surprises, weather battles, and countless memories. Along the way, we met some incredible people, served thousands of meals, and received support that never went unnoticed.

To every customer who stopped by for lunch, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, hired us for an event, or simply cheered us on—thank you. You helped make this journey possible.

While this chapter is coming to an end, I am incredibly grateful for everything Meltdown Express brought into my life and for every person who was part of the ride.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting a small local business.

🚨 ⚠️ ATTENTION DALE AREA ⚠️🚨

The lunch crowd is already making plans, and some of you are sitting at work pretending a sleeve of crackers is a meal.

It’s not.

We’re open today and serving lunch until 2 PM for sure. Possibly dinner. Stay posted for an update.

Now before anyone starts clutching pearls and asking, “But what am I supposed to eat after 2pm?” let’s focus on the crisis directly in front of us.

You have several hours to make responsible adult decisions.

Or…

You can order a burger, a Philly, a gyro, or cheese curds and experience actual happiness for a few minutes.

We’re not here to judge.

We’re just here to make sure nobody has to suffer through another sad desk lunch or gas station meal.

⚠️ LOCAL EMERGENCY ALERT ⚠️

After today’s limited hours of 11-2pm, some of you barely survived.

The messages started rolling in.

“Are you still open?”

“Did I miss it?”

“Will I ever recover from driving past and seeing the trailer closed?”

Thankfully, help is on the way.

Tomorrow we’ll be back to our normal hours from 11 AM – 7 PM with the full lineup of phillys, melts, burgers, gyros, fries, and all the poor life choices you’ve come to know and love.

Please remain calm.

Do not stampede.

Do not leave work early claiming a family emergency just because you’re craving a Philly Cheesesteak.

Tomorrow’s forecast says “questionable life choices” and honestly, that’s our target audience.

We’ll be open 11 AM – 2 PM serving up melts, burgers, gyros, loaded fries, and enough cheese to make your doctor sigh dramatically.

If you’re planning to spend the day pretending you’ll eat healthy “starting Monday,” you might as well make tomorrow count.

The trailer is unlocked, the grill is hot, and poor decisions are officially back on the menu.

We’ll be serving up phillys, melts, burgers, loaded fries, gyros, and enough comfort food to undo whatever healthy choices you made while we were closed.

Okay, we might be a little jealous.

Meltdown Express is taking the day off, (due to a prior engagement) which means today is your official permission slip to go get Friday fish and Old Fashion’s like every good Wisconsin citizen pretending they weren’t craving a Philly Cheesesteak instead.

We’ll be back Monday at 11 AM with the good stuff — burgers, gyros, phillys, melts, loaded fries, and bad decisions that don’t come with tartar sauce.

Yesterday was 80°+.
The day before felt like Wisconsin was being slow roasted.

Now it’s 70° and half of y’all are back in hoodies acting like fall returned overnight.

Wisconsin weather is just emotional whiplash with humidity.

Good news though — the grills are hot, the fries are loaded, and we’re open at 11 AM serving burgers, melts, and bad decisions all day.

Because no matter what the weather does… y’all still don’t wanna cook.

Good help is hard to find…
Apparently my coworker “Chaos” clocked in, found a sunny spot, and immediately decided today was a “mental health day.” ☀️🐶

Meanwhile I’m out here doing all the heavy lifting while she supervises absolutely nothing, except the UV rays. HR has been notified, but honestly morale is still pretty high around here. 😂

Stop down and keep us busy.

Update: the coworker has now officially abandoned the job site entirely.

She lasted approximately 11 minutes in the heat before filing an immediate complaint with management and relocating herself directly into the air conditioning for a mid-shift nap. ❄️🐾

Meanwhile I’m still out here doing payroll, customer service, quality control, and emotional support by myself.

Good help is hard to find these days. 😂
