🚨 MONTANA’S WOLF HUNT HAS BEGUN — AND UP TO 300 WOLVES ARE NOW IN THE CROSSHAIRS. 🐺

This is no longer a proposal. Montana’s 2026–27 wolf hunting season has started.

Montana’s Fish and Wildlife Commission approved a total harvest quota of 300 wolves — 50 MORE than the 250 recommended by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.

And this comes after Montana introduced an updated population model estimating approximately 725 wolves statewide. A quota of 300 is therefore equivalent to more than 41% of that estimated population.

There were some concessions. Wolf Management Units 313 and 316 bordering Yellowstone were reduced to just one wolf each, while the individual hunter limit in Region 3 was reduced from 10 wolves to five.

But 300 wolves statewide is still an enormous number.

Wolves aren’t statistics. They are intelligent, highly social animals that live in families, raise their young together and form strong bonds. Killing wolves can affect far more than the individual animal — it can tear apart packs and disrupt entire family structures.

And now the hunt has begun. We need to act.

We are absolutely heartbroken to hear that beautiful Tucker Budzyn has passed away. 💔

Tucker brought so much happiness, laughter and love to millions of people around the world. He wasn’t simply a famous dog on social media — he was a much-loved family member whose wonderful personality somehow reached through the screen and made people feel as though they knew him.

Tucker sadly passed away aged just 8, following a diagnosis of lymphoma. His mum Courtney had been hoping treatment was working, before his condition suddenly declined.

As someone who knows just how deeply we love our dogs, my heart goes out to Courtney and everyone who loved Tucker. Eight years is nowhere near enough, but what an incredible amount of joy he managed to bring into the world during that time.

Run free, beautiful Tucker. You were loved by millions and will never be forgotten. 🕊️🐾

🚨 TRUMP SIGNS ORDER THAT COULD STRIP PROTECTIONS FROM THE ENDANGERED MEXICAN WOLF 🐺

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that could ultimately remove federal Endangered Species Act protections from one of North America’s most endangered wolves — the Mexican wolf.

Signed on September 4, the order gives the U.S. Secretary of the Interior 90 days to determine whether the Mexican wolf — alongside the gray wolf — has met the recovery criteria necessary to be delisted or downlisted under the Endangered Species Act. If officials decide those criteria have been met, the administration is directed to begin that process. (The White House⁠)

Importantly, the wolves have NOT been delisted yet. But the order goes much further than simply requesting a review. It also calls for legislative recommendations to remove or reduce federal protections and, if recovery criteria are deemed met, encourages states to reconsider their own protections and rules surrounding lethal removal. The move is part of Trump’s new package of measures aimed at supporting American ranchers. The administration argues ranchers need greater ability to protect cattle from wolf predation and wants federal agencies to examine making lethal removal easier in certain circumstances. (The White House⁠)

But conservationists are furious.

Mexican wolves were driven virtually to extinction in the wild during the 20th century before an extraordinary captive-breeding and reintroduction programme brought them back. Conservation organisations now fear that weakening federal protection before the population is securely recovered could undo decades of work. (Center for Biological Diversity⁠)

This isn’t simply about whether wolves and ranchers can coexist. Non-lethal tools, better livestock management and compensation programmes can all form part of coexistence. Removing protections from an animal humans once pushed to the edge of extinction should require exceptionally strong scientific evidence that its recovery is genuinely secure.

The next 90 days could therefore be enormously important for the future of the Mexican wolf.

🚨 OUTRAGE AS BABY DOLPHIN PULLED FROM SEA IN CEUTA 🚨

Disturbing footage from Ceuta, Spain, has sparked outrage after a baby dolphin was pulled from the sea by a group of migrants/asylum seekers and carried around above their heads.

The footage can be found on Spanish local Juan Ruiz’s Instagram page, . Ruiz can be heard repeatedly trying to intervene, telling those handling the dolphin to leave it alone and warning them that they should not be taking it from the water.

In the clips, another man reportedly attempts to refloat the dolphin, but tragically the animal appears unresponsive. The dolphin is subsequently removed from the water again by the migrants and carried around above the group’s heads.

Even more disturbing are allegations surrounding what happened to the animal. Local environmental association DAUBMA has filed a formal complaint with Spain’s Guardia Civil, alleging that the young dolphin arrived at the shoreline alive and was then struck on the head with a stick after being removed from the water. The organisation says photographs and videos have been handed to investigators. The exact cause and circumstances of the dolphin’s death have not yet been officially established.

The footage has now provoked anger far beyond Ceuta, with people demanding answers over how a protected wild animal could have been treated this way.

Whatever the investigation ultimately establishes about how the dolphin died, wild marine animals should NEVER be dragged from the sea, carried around or treated like trophies.

🚨 PUPPY REPORTEDLY FOUND DEAD IN FECES-SMEARED BIN AT MARSHALL BIORESOURCES 🚨

Animal advocates are demanding a criminal investigation into Marshall BioResources in New York after whistleblower evidence alleged disturbing treatment of dogs at the enormous breeding operation that supplies animals to laboratories.

One of the most shocking images released by PETA reportedly shows a puppy lying dead inside a filthy, feces-smeared metal bin at Marshall’s New York facility. A whistleblower also alleged that puppies dying overnight was a recurring occurrence, that blood was sometimes discovered in cages, and that some dogs suffered injuries. These remain whistleblower allegations rather than criminal findings.

Now the pressure is intensifying. On September 2, a criminal referral drafted by former federal prosecutor Bonnie Klapper was announced, calling on New York authorities to investigate the allegations and asking for measures to protect dogs at the facility while the claims are examined.

The sheer scale is staggering. During a May 2026 USDA inspection of Marshall’s North Rose site, officials counted 9,171 adult dogs, 5,394 puppies and 11,706 ferrets — more than 26,000 animals across those categories at this location alone.

Marshall BioResources strongly disputes the allegations and says its animals receive humane care, veterinary attention, socialisation and enrichment. The company says unannounced USDA inspections in May and July 2026 resulted in no citations.

But whatever an investigation ultimately establishes, this photograph deserves answers.

A puppy died. Thousands more remain inside. Animal advocates are demanding to know exactly what happened behind those doors.

And this story reaches all the way to Britain. Marshall BioResources is part of the same Marshall organisation behind MBR Acres in Cambridgeshire, the controversial facility breeding beagles for use in research.

For those of us campaigning against the breeding of dogs for laboratory use, the demand is clear: MBR Acres and facilities breeding puppies for experimentation must be shut down.

78-YEAR-OLD ANIMAL LOVER FACES PRISON — FOR FEEDING BIRDS 🐦

At 78 years old, Brian Wilkins — known locally as the “Birdman of Hartlepool” — could potentially find himself behind bars. His crime? Continuing to feed pigeons and other wildlife despite a court order banning him from doing so.

Brian has spent years feeding birds because he believes they shouldn’t be left to go hungry. At one point, his family said he was buying as many as 30 loaves of bread a day. But the council says the enormous quantities of food attracted rats, caused complaints and affected residents and businesses. Eventually, a Criminal Behaviour Order was imposed preventing him from leaving food in public places.

And Brian kept feeding them.

Now he is accused of repeatedly breaching that order and faces the possibility of imprisonment if convicted.

Whatever you think about feeding pigeons, something about this feels deeply uncomfortable. Britain is struggling with serious crime, shoplifting, antisocial behaviour and overstretched policing — yet a 78-year-old pensioner whose motivation appears to be compassion for animals has ended up facing the criminal courts.

Surely there has to be a proportionate and humane way of dealing with an elderly man who simply cannot bear the thought of animals going hungry.

Brian reportedly believes he is doing the right thing.

The authorities say he is causing a nuisance.

And now a jury may ultimately decide his fate.

America’s wolves tell two stories: those we can still save — and those we have already lost.

3 OF AMERICA’S RAREST WOLVES

1. RED WOLF — Canis rufus
The world’s most endangered wolf. Once widespread across the eastern USA, today only a few dozen survive in the wild, almost entirely in eastern North Carolina.

2. MEXICAN GREY WOLF — Canis lupus baileyi
Once virtually extinct in the wild after decades of poisoning and shooting. Reintroduction has brought them back, with several hundred now roaming Arizona and New Mexico — an incredible conservation success, but they remain endangered.

3. ALEXANDER ARCHIPELAGO WOLF — Canis lupus ligoni
A distinctive wolf of Southeast Alaska’s coastal forests and islands. It is not federally endangered, but some populations remain vulnerable to logging, habitat loss, hunting and isolation.

3 WOLF FORMS WE LOST

1. GREAT PLAINS WOLF
Great Plains wolf populations were systematically destroyed as settlers expanded westward, using poison, traps, shooting and bounties. The historical populations disappeared, although Canis lupus nubilus itself is not considered extinct under modern taxonomy.

2. CASCADE MOUNTAIN WOLF
Once associated with the Pacific Northwest, these wolves disappeared following relentless persecution to protect livestock. Their historical classification as a separate subspecies is now disputed.

3. KENAI PENINSULA WOLF
A huge wolf historically described from Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula. Poisoning and shooting devastated the original population, although wolves later returned to the region.

WE STILL HAVE TIME

The tragedy of the wolves we lost should be a warning. We still have time to protect the wolves struggling today — but we cannot become complacent.

Conservation, habitat protection and non-lethal livestock protection work. The Mexican wolf has already proved that.

Time is running out. Extinction is forever.
