In a sickening twist of events tortured street dog Orelha’s case has been closed

BREAKING NEWS: The case of Orelha — the elderly stray dog whose heartbreaking condition horrified millions — has officially been closed by prosecutors, who now claim there is “no evidence” she died as a result of abuse by teenagers.

But for many animal lovers following this tragic story, the images told their own devastating story.

Orelha was found frail, exhausted and covered in injuries, with severe wounds to her face and body, cloudy eyes and an emaciated frame that showed prolonged suffering. Reports and eyewitness accounts that spread online knew that local teenagers had abused, beaten and tormented the elderly dog before her death, sparking fury and grief across Brazil and beyond. Her injuries were so extreme she had to be euthanised by a local vet.

Now authorities say the evidence was insufficient to prosecute and the case has been closed.

For supporters of Orelha, this ending feels deeply painful.

An old, vulnerable dog suffered terribly in her final days, and despite the public outrage, no one will now be held responsible. Many feel the investigation has left unanswered questions and that Orelha has been denied justice.

Her story touched millions because she represented every abandoned animal left to suffer unseen — old, weak and powerless. Whether the world ever learns the full truth or not, the images of Orelha’s suffering will not be forgotten.

Rest in peace, beautiful girl. 💔

One of the strangest things about wolves is how obsessed they are with your mouth. 🐺

When a wolf truly trusts you, they often want to get right into your face and sniff your breath, teeth and mouth constantly. It’s how they learn everything about you — what you’ve eaten, your mood, your health, even your confidence. Wolves live through scent in a way humans can barely imagine.

And honestly… resisting usually doesn’t work. 😅

If you stand up or pull away too quickly, many wolves will simply bop you in the nose with theirs or try to stretch up to reach your mouth anyway. It’s not aggression — it’s intense curiosity and social bonding.

In wolf packs, mouths are incredibly important for communication, greetings, trust and gathering information. To them, getting close to your face is completely natural.

So if a wolf gently presses into your face sniffing your mouth… congratulations. You’ve basically been accepted into the conversation. 🖤

I’m currently fundraising to save these Arctic wolves’s land from being sold. The link is in my Linktree and bio. My full YouTube episode on Artic Wolves is this Friday at 7.30lm.

Arctic Wolves in Canada at Wolf Sanctuary ‘A Wolf Adventure Outreach and Retreat’

Filming Arctic Wolves in Canada. This Friday we launch an incredibly beautiful Animal Watch episode on the world’s bravest wolves. These wolves are known to approach humans unlike any other subspecies plus they have physically adapted to plunging Arctic temperatures by having smaller noses, ears and bodies. Their fur is hollow to hold in heat and their skin is black to draw in the suns rays.

This Friday I fly to -25 temperatures to get up close with some habituated Arctic wolves at Arctic Wolf Preserve. We learn everything about this wonderful and spectacularly beautiful sub species. This Friday at 7.30pm on YouTube Animal Watch

🐣‼️BREAKING SCIENCE: Scientists at Colossal Biosciences say they have successfully hatched healthy chicks from fully art...

🐣‼️BREAKING SCIENCE: Scientists at Colossal Biosciences say they have successfully hatched healthy chicks from fully artificial eggs for the very first time.

And honestly… this could be far bigger than it sounds.

Unlike normal eggshells, these artificial eggs are engineered with a breathable silicone membrane and microscopic pores that mimic how real eggs exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. The transparent shell even allows scientists to watch embryos develop in real time.

Why does this matter?

Because many endangered birds are incredibly difficult to breed in captivity — and some extinct species may one day require artificial incubation systems far beyond the size or capability of living birds today.

Colossal says this technology could eventually help support conservation of fragile bird species… and even future “de-extinction” projects, including their controversial plan to recreate traits of the extinct South Island giant moa of New Zealand — a bird that once stood around 12 feet tall.

The company also claims artificial eggs could help hatch embryos from preserved cells and DNA, opening up huge possibilities for wildlife conservation science.

Of course, not everyone agrees with de-extinction projects, and critics warn that protecting living ecosystems and endangered animals must remain the priority.

But scientifically?
This is a genuine breakthrough.

For the first time, scientists may have created an artificial egg capable of doing one of nature’s most extraordinary jobs:
bringing new life into the world.

The Toy Tax: Arctic wolf Noki Bear does something very unusual… something I’ve honestly never seen before.

Whenever somebody enters her enclosure, they have to pay a very special kind of tax.

Not money.
Not food.

But a soft toy!

Ever since she was a tiny pup, Noki Bear has been completely obsessed with cuddly toys, and Sky now asks visitors to bring one with them when they meet her.

So today… I brought her a gift.

And the second she realised it was for her, she absolutely exploded with joy.

Her whole body wriggled with excitement. Tiny whimpers escaped, her ears folded softly back, and she danced around like the happiest wolf in the world.

It was impossible not to smile watching her.

But standing there beside her, you realise this is about far more than a toy.

It’s trust.
Comfort.
Love.

Sky has raised these Arctic wolves with such care and understanding that Noki Bear doesn’t just tolerate people… she genuinely connects with them.

And somehow, for a few moments surrounded by wolves in the forests of Saskatchewan… the weight of the world just disappears.

But now… Noki Bear could lose the only home she has ever known.

Sky Phoenix’s Arctic wolf sanctuary in Canada is at risk, and unless £35,000 is raised by the end of July, these beautiful wolves could lose their safe home forever.

So many incredibly kind wolf experts and sanctuaries have now donated amazing wolf experiences in return for donations to help save them, and we’ve opened a JustGiving page right now to fight for the future of these Arctic wolves.

If you would like to help save Noki Bear and her family, the links are in my biography, Linktree and story. 🐺🩷❄️

Deep in the wilds of Saskatchewan, Sky Phoenix created a sanctuary where rescued Arctic wolves could live almost free — surrounded by forests, peace, and the people they help heal.

Children struggling with trauma.
Adults battling depression.
People who arrived broken… and left transformed after sitting beside wolves.

But now this sanctuary could be lost forever.

After suffering a traumatic brain injury in a serious car accident, Sky signed over the land during an incredibly vulnerable time — believing it would later be returned.

Instead… she was served divorce papers.

Now the wolves risk losing the only home they’ve ever known.

That’s why I flew to Canada — to witness this with my own eyes and ask for your help before it’s too late.

We must raise 60,000 Canadian dollars by July to save this sanctuary.

And to help raise the funds, I’ve launched four once-in-a-lifetime wolf experiences.

• A breathtaking private Arctic wolf experience in the Canadian wilderness with Sky Phoenix herself — standing face to face beside pure Arctic wolves in an intimate one-on-one encounter few humans on Earth will ever experience.

• A magical day exploring ancient castles, hidden villages and breathtaking landscapes in England alongside my blue wolfdogs Ocean and River — including personal photographs and behind-the-scenes time with the wolves.

• An unforgettable journey into the rolling hills of Tuscany at the stunning Wild Soul Wolf & Wolfdog Sanctuary — surrounded by wolves and wolfdogs beneath the Italian sun in one of the most beautiful sanctuaries in Europe.

• An exclusive private encounter at WolfWatchUK with Bosch the towering white wolf and Anja the European wolf — experiencing these extraordinary animals up close in one of Britain’s most respected wolf rescues.

Every £1 donation becomes an entry into the draw.

But this is bigger than prizes.

Because without this land… these wolves lose everything.

The link to the Just Giving Page will be in the top comment

(Prizes subject to rules and regulations listed on donation page.)
