Last night was one of the scariest nights we’ve had with Radar.
Before bed, he kept acting like he needed to vomit but couldn’t…just dry heaving. In the middle of the night, he suddenly woke up screaming. His heart was beating so fast and hard it felt like it was going to burst out of his chest. He then went completely limp, and for a moment, we truly thought we had lost him.
Thankfully, Radar came back around and was able to fall asleep. This morning, he is eating and drinking normally, but we are taking this episode very seriously. Because Radar has a known heart murmur and complex double merle genetics, episodes like this are not something we can ignore, even if he seems “okay” afterward.
We are closely monitoring him and working with veterinary professionals to determine next steps. Please keep Radar in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to advocate for him and navigate this journey one day at a time.
Thank you for loving him, supporting him, and standing with us through the hard moments as well as the good ones. 🤍
