Found one of Adelaide’s best Sunday roasts... and it’s not even on the menu 👀

The Rising Sun Inn is one of those places that feels full of character the moment you walk in. Tucked away on Bridge Street in Kensington, this heritage-listed venue dates back to 1845 and blends old-world charm with a modern, produce-driven menu

From beautifully plated seasonal dishes to a cosy atmosphere that’s just as suited to a long lunch as it is dinner with friends and family, it’s easy to see why this place is such a lovely Adelaide dining discovery

Here’s what we tried:
🍞 house-made damper: the flavours change every couple of days depending on what the chefs are creating. We had the chorizo damper served with Vegemite butter
🧀 burrata: creamy, fresh and the perfect way to start the meal
🍖 Sunday roast: not listed on the menu, but absolutely worth planning your Sunday around. It changes weekly, and this time we had pork served with all the proper trimmings: crispy duck fat potatoes, seasonal vegetables, apple sauce, crackling and rich gravy. Exactly how a Sunday roast should be!
🥩 beef fillet: cooked beautifully and served with garlic-roasted field mushroom, cavolo nero and blistered truss tomatoes
🍐 sticky date pudding: you have to finish with this classic! Served with butterscotch sauce, poached pear and cream, it was the perfect way to end the meal

Good to know:
🚗 limited parking on-site but there is also street parking
🎶 live music is held on the last Sunday of each month
🎨 the artwork throughout the venue is for sale, so if something catches your eye, you can actually take it home
🎉 while we were there, there were a few celebrations happening and the team told us they also host everything from birthdays to weddings and other private events

We spent the day at the Royal Adelaide Show and had such a fun time. If you’re heading there this week, here are a few things worth knowing:

🐐 the Farmyard petting nursery is open daily from 9am–5pm (until 7pm on the final day)

🎢 you can save on rides by pre-purchasing a Discount Carnival Pass, with bundle savings of up to 20%.

🛍️ we’d recommend picking up your showbags on the way out so you’re not carrying them around all day. We mostly stuck to the lollies and other treats because baby M already has way too many toys 😂

👶 there are over 100 free attractions and entertainment options included with entry, from Aggie’s Farm to woodchopping, cooking demonstrations, live music and livestock judging

🎆 if you can, stay until dark for the Main Arena spectacular with fireworks, the Human Cannon, Hot Wheels Burnout Inferno and more

Little legs, big adventures 🤍 turns out the carrier stage wasn’t quite over after all 😂

Baby M loves exploring on her own, but when those little legs get tired (or she’s fighting a nap), we’ve enjoying the Lenny Preschool Carrier from Kiki @ Cloth and Carry. It’s been a great way to keep her close without wearing out our arms, and has made those inevitable “carry me” moments on family days out so much easier 😄

And just look at this gorgeous colour 🤍 it goes with everything! The breathable cotton and linen fabric is great for Australian weather, and it’s comfortable enough that both J and I can wear it with ease

Looking for one of the best Italian restaurants in Adelaide? 🇮🇹🍝🍕

Tucked along the beautiful King William Road, Hyde Park in City of Unley, is putting a unique spin on classic Italian favourites 🍝 they’re home to three cheese wheel pasta dishes, each finished inside a flaming cheese wheeland they’re also one of the few places in Adelaide serving deep base pizza (a thick, fluffy crust that’s still baked like a traditional pizza)

We tried:
🧀 parmesan cheese wheel pasta with Italian sausage added for an extra savoury kick that balanced the rich, creamy sauce perfectly
🍕 deep base pepperoni pizza with capsicum and a drizzle of honey. The fluffy base was light yet satisfying, with plenty of gooey cheese and the perfect balance of sweet, salty and spicy flavours
🍖 slow-cooked lamb shank with creamy corn mash, buckwheat pearls, caramelised baby carrots and a rich w**e jus. It was so tender it fell straight off the bone! We ordered it to balance out all the carbs but it ended up being one of our favourite dishes of the meal 😌
🍷 paired with a beautiful Grenache from Willunga 100 Wines McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Official Tourism Site to complement this decadent meal

The friendly service and cosy atmosphere made it such a lovely spot 🕯️thank you to the team at for having us! ❤️

Date night, family dinner or margaritas with friends? Rosa Mexicano in Norwood is a great spot for large plates, colourful cocktails and a lively atmosphere

We tried:
🌮 birria taco – slow-cooked birria beef served in a crispy corn tortilla with rich birria consommé for even more flavour
🌯 chicken & mushroom burrito – baked with pan-toasted onions, capsicum, garlic, white w**e, cream and cheese
🥩 mixed grill fajita – a sizzling platter of pork ribs, chicken, steak strips, chorizo and vegetables
🍹 frozen margarita – the perfect way to kick off the meal
🗿 tiki glass mocktail – refreshing, fun and beautifully presented
