We’ve all heard of the Christmas tree, but the Jesse Tree tells an even deeper story. Rooted in Isaiah’s prophecy, “A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit” (Isaiah 11:1), it traces Jesus’ family line from Adam and Eve to His birth and reminds us that God’s plan to restore us has been in motion from the very beginning.

First used in the Middle Ages through art and stained glass, the Jesse Tree helped people learn the Bible when few could read. Today, families use it throughout December, hanging an ornament each day that represents a story from Scripture, creating a growing display of hope as Christmas approaches.

As the branches fill, so does the story of God’s faithfulness. The Jesse Tree invites us to slow down, remember where we’ve come from, and celebrate the Savior who fulfills every promise.

The holiday season can bring joy… but also a whole lot of stress. Travel, hosting, gifts, work deadlines. Our minds get crowded fast. And once the worry starts, it’s hard to stop.

But even a few quiet minutes with God can shift everything: a quick prayer, a short scripture reading, a moment of gratitude. These small pauses help us remember that the heart of Advent isn’t the busy schedule or the perfect celebration, it’s Christ Himself.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He cares for your worries, big and small. Give them to Him and rest in the best gift of all: a deeper relationship with Him.

Ever wonder what all the Advent “hubbub” is about?

Advent (meaning “coming” or “visit”) kicks off the Church year and leads us into the mystery of Christmas. It’s a season of waiting, preparing, and opening our hearts to Jesus, both in His birth and in His promised return.

Each Sunday shines a new light on the journey:
✨ Hope
✨ Faith
✨ Joy
✨ Peace

May these weeks draw us deeper into the beauty of His coming.
