We’ve all heard of the Christmas tree, but the Jesse Tree tells an even deeper story. Rooted in Isaiah’s prophecy, “A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit” (Isaiah 11:1), it traces Jesus’ family line from Adam and Eve to His birth and reminds us that God’s plan to restore us has been in motion from the very beginning.
First used in the Middle Ages through art and stained glass, the Jesse Tree helped people learn the Bible when few could read. Today, families use it throughout December, hanging an ornament each day that represents a story from Scripture, creating a growing display of hope as Christmas approaches.
As the branches fill, so does the story of God’s faithfulness. The Jesse Tree invites us to slow down, remember where we’ve come from, and celebrate the Savior who fulfills every promise.
