🚨 Exciting News! 🚨

Before launching Flatiron Creative Group, I (Trent) worked nearly 5 years in law enforcement as a night shift patrol cop.

Today, it's impossible to ignore the challenges law enforcement agencies face in recruiting. Many mid-sized departments are losing quality recruits to larger agencies with bigger budgets and incentives

Even with unprecedented measures—like Aurora, Colorado Police Department, now offering $119K/year after just five years of service—recruiting remains an uphill battle.

Social media and video are now critical for attracting recruits and connecting with communities, but most departments lack the resources or expertise to create professional content. And honestly, that’s understandable—they’re cops, not filmmakers.

That’s why I’m excited to announce TEN41 Media, a new subsidiary of Flatiron Creative Group.

TEN41 Media will use our first hand law enforcement experience to focus exclusively on helping agencies create high-quality video content that recruits, inspires, and connects.

TEN41 Media officially launches in the New Year, and we're so excited to continue partnering with law enforcement agencies to lend a much needed hand.

The topic of delivering "raw footage."

This is one of my favorite discussions, and if you're like me, you're a visual person.

Log footage, often referred to as "raw" is the unprocessed footage delivered straight out of camera.

Why does it look ugly?

In simple terms, this flat profile allows for more dynamic range and color during editing.

Unfortunately, I have firsthand seen big brands, using "raw" footage on ads. Some even here on Facebook.

I can almost guarantee the log footage was handed over with no communication on the extra work required to transform the footage into something usable.

As a result, these brands are posting video content with washed out and grayscale footage.

Cringe.

Communicate with your clients and work out an arrangement.

Log footage NEEDS to be color-graded and corrected by an editor.

This is why many video professionals are often hesitant to deliver raw footage.

STORY.

Learning how to craft a perfect story (like anything) takes years of experience to perfect.

Here are three signs you're partnering with a video professional/agency who prioritizes story:

1. Dedicated Pre-Production Process: They invest in a thorough pre-production phase, developing a strong narrative through scriptwriting, storyboarding, and meticulous planning.
