Why You Need a Reset (Even When Things Are Going Fine)
Motivational Monday Reflection
"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you."
— Anne Lamott
This weekend, I gave myself something I haven’t had in a while:
Space.
Space to breathe.
Space to think.
Space to reconnect—with myself.
I didn’t go away because I was burned out (though I’ve been there before).
I didn’t go away because something was broken.
I went away because I needed a reset—in my mindset, my energy, and my creativity.
And wow... I came back different.
Lighter. Clearer. Recharged.
Not because anything dramatic happened, but because I allowed myself to unplug from the noise and tune back into me.
Here’s what I remembered (and maybe you need this reminder too):
When we step away from the chaos, we reconnect to what matters.
When we pause with intention, we return with clarity.
When we give ourselves permission to reset, we show up more powerfully in every area of our lives.
This isn’t just about feeling better.
It’s about performing better, leading better, loving better.
Because when you’re constantly running on empty, you lose your sharpness. You stop creating. You start reacting. And little by little, your spark starts to fade.
But when you reset—really reset—you remember who you are and what you’re here to do.
So here’s a loving nudge for you this week:
Schedule your next reset today.
Make it non-negotiable. Put it on your calendar and protect it like your future depends on it—because it does.
And no, it doesn’t have to be a big weekend getaway.
It could be a morning with a journal and no phone.
A quiet walk through nature.
An evening of silence and rest.
Whatever brings you back to center… do that.
Your business will benefit.
Your relationships will flourish.
And your health—mental, emotional, physical—will thank you.
Let this be the week you lead yourself first.
Because the best version of you doesn’t live in the hustle.
She lives in the reset.
